- Empower clinical staff by ensuring the necessary information for them to perform their duties competently is universally available to all and hence ensure patient safety
- Standardize the User Manual Storage and Access Policy and Procedure for your entire hospital
Unit Level
- Remove the administrative burden from Business Unit Managers of ensuring the User Manuals are available, accessible and do not have to be returned once they have been used
- Make sure the User Manual is available for the Clinical Devices functional life
- Ensure Medical and Nursing Staff are able to access vital information quickly in order to resolve any issues related to patient safety and clinical decisions which need to be made
- Allow the unit managers to grow the Technical Competence and Experience within the unit by requesting and / or referring staff to the User Manuals thus ensuring they know how to access them and give them the opportunity to gain device specific knowledge which is accurate and necessary
- Add a decentralized component to Clinical Nurse Education and “Train the Trainer” programs by focusing on Device Specific Self Education
- Standardize operational procedures of makes and models throughout the hospital by ensuring the Manufacturer Procedures and Setups are used by all units and departments
- Increase the available Equipment Nurse Experience Pool at unit level
