Physical Check
Check flowmeters and outlets for Order replacement items as needed. Cosmetic items, such as lens, will not affect certification and can be replaced in field damage to equipment and at a later date. Critical items will need to be replaced at Accutron components. List damaged items on Knob screws must be tightened without moving or removing knobs. Knob orientation is critical to proper functions test sheet. Tighten knob screws.

Requirement / Test Actions
Illustrations / Additonal Information
Small leaks will not require immediate replacement although user will need to be aware of the possibility of increased N2O in the room during a procedure. Certification can take place and damaged items can be replaced in field at a later date.
With gas supply connected and unit off, soap outspout. It is located on the front of PC, DCs, and portable digitals. It is located on bagtees plugged into remote outlets for CMs and Digitals.
Leaks through the outspout with units off, indicate internal leaks that must be fixed at Accutron.
With gas supply connected and unit off, soap resuscitator fitting. This will be labeled O2 or O2 Resuscitator. It is located on the front of CMs and portable Digitals, on the back or side of PCs and DCs, and on the remote outlet block for CM digitals. These leaks must be returned to Accutron for repair.

SLPM
Attach battery pack to the fixture. Use small switch on battery pack to turn fixture ON and OFF. When fixture is ON make sure it shows "Mass SLPM" or just SLPM on the right side of flow reading. If it does not, press button next to Mass or SLPM to change to Mass SLPM. See last page for gas selection procedure. Slightly push one end of white hose from kit onto barb fitting on left of fixture. Slightly push the other end of white hose ovet the barb fitting threaed togerher with plastic fitting. When testing customer units, plug this plastic fitting into outspout. Outspout is located on front of PC/DC and on bagtees for all others.
9
Oxygen Flush
Plug downspout with the urethane plug provided.
Select O2 gas on fixture (see Step 20) and connect outspout connector from fixture to outspout. (Note: outspout is built into PC and DC. All other units will be located on remote outlet bagtee.) Press Flush button on all standard units. Digitals, turn unit on and press Green Flush button.
All units: verify that fixture reading is 20 SLPM or more.

Failsafe Test
Ball style: Turn on flow of each gas to 4 LPM. Digital: Turn on and set Total Flow to 8.0 and %N2O to 50.
The failsafe test is critical!
Shut oxygen supply at source, i.e. oxygen tanks. Wait while oxygen pressure drops in system. This may take several minutes for large office with many outlets.
Remove from service immediately if it fails. Send units to Accutron for repair. Call Accutron Customer Service for return authorization number. 1-800-531-2221
Verify all flow stops and fixture reading shows no flow . Verify that digital also gives Failure Oxygen alarm. Restore oxygen flow when Failsafe test is complete.

O2 Flow Point 1
Select O2 gas on fixture.
Ball style meters: O2 - 3 lpm and N2O off. Verify fixture reading is 3 ± 0.5 lpm. Digital: Total Flow 3 lpm %N2O at 0. Verify fixture reading is 3 ± 0.5 lpm.

Select Mix5050 gas on fixture.
O2 - 6 lpm and N2O - 6 lpm. Verify fixture reading is 12 ± 0.5 lpm.
Select Mix70/30 gas on fixture
Total Flow 9.9 lpm and %N2O at 70. Verify fixture is 9.9±0.5 lpm.
With flow still set per previous step (6 lpm O2 and 6 lpm N2O), check reading on %N2O knobs. Unit passes if pointer touches any part of the printed "50%" characters. For units with windows, unit passes as long as the printed "50%" is within the window. Characters do not have to be centered on pointer or in window.
Note: The percentage nitrous control is offered as a convenience only by allowing simple adjustment to general flow areas. It is not meant to be perfect, and has no affect on flow tube accuracy, although it might be an indicator of overall performance. Safe and effective conscious sedation can be achieved, even if percentage control is off, by using the calibrated flow tubes and conversion table in Users Manual. User can opt to use flowmeter if percentage control is off by signing the report accepting this as is.
Digital percentage control is accurate at all flows and is monitored by mass flow sensors and microprocessors. Nothing to test in this step.
