Condensed Instructions

Syringe Preparation 9 Prepare syringe Loading syringe into the pump 9 Press blue catch down (1) to open door 9 Pull back syringe clamp (2) 9 Wait until actuator (drive head) movement ceases (3) 9 Insert syringe (4) (Ensure ears of syringe fit and make contact with front face of recess) 9 Push syringe clamp (2) onto barrel of syringe and close door 9 Press & hold PRIME/BOLUS key (8) drive head automatically engages onto syringe plunger. 9 Press START/STOP key to confirm size & make of syringe, shown in the display (6) Priming the line - starting and stopping Infusion 9 Prior to attaching extension line to cannula, attach line to syringe 9 Press and hold PRIME key to prime line (8) (Optional) Note: Amount of delivery is dependent on how long the prime key is held ’ (see Trouble Shooter for rate calculation)

9 Set required rate (Use keys in RATE ML/H window) (9) 9 Set required volume (VBTI) (Use keys in VOLUME ML window) (10) (Optional) 9 Press START / STOP key to begin infusion (7) 9 To stop infusion at any time. Press START/STOP key (7) pump reverts to KVO rate 0.3 ml/hr Removal of the syringe from the pump 9 Press START/STOP key (1) to stop pump if pump is infusing 9 Press blue catch down (1) to open door 9 Pull back syringe clamp (2) 9 Wait for actuator (drive head) to release the syringe and open completely (3) 9 Remove syringe (4) 9 Push syringe clamp back (2) and close door 9 Press PRIME/BOLUS key (8) drive head will automatically park itself in the closed position 9 Press and hold ON / OFF key for 2 seconds to power down syringe pump (11)
