Operation Manual This Operation Manual deals with the specifications, operations, and maintenance of the Neo Cot, and indicates precautions for using the unit safely. Read this Manual carefully and familiarize yourself with its contents before operating the unit. ●The ● unit you purchased may slightly differ from the content of this Manual due to product revisions, etc. ●Atom ● is by no means responsible for any malfunction arising from a user ignoring the instructions for operation and maintenance described in this Manual. Keep this Manual where it is readily accessible for reference when needed.
CAUTION The unit is shipped without being disinfected. Be sure to clean and disinfect the unit before using it for the first time after purchase.

[3] SAFETY PRECAUTIONS Please follow the operating instructions described in this Manual for the safe use of the unit. The unit should be used only for its intended use.

WARNING Do not give a shock to the unit or let it hit anything. The screws or fixed parts may become loose, which can cause injury.
Do not allow maintenance or repair by a party other than technical personnel belonging to or authorized by Atom. The screws or fixed parts may become loose, which can cause injury.
Do not use the unit with two or more infants. It is designed for one infant. Using the unit with two or more infants may cause damage to it or make it fall down, which can cause injury.

CAUTION Place the unit on a stable surface. Placing the unit on an unstable platform or a tilted surface will cause it to fall or drop and may hurt someone.
When operating the unit, perform an adequate safety check of the surrounding area. Otherwise the unit may hit something or fall down, which can cause injury.
Do not climb on or lean on the unit. Do not apply a load of 5 kg or more to the handle. Otherwise the unit may fall down or drop down, which can cause injury.
Use the transparent cot with the correct orientation. Failure to do so may cause injury.
Be sure to cover the mattress with an appropriate mattress sheet.

[5] Preparation before Use 5-1. Locking the Transparent Cot After placing the transparent cot on the mattress platform, rotate the four cot lock levers on the mattress platform 90 degrees to lock them, as indicated by the pink guide marks.

5-2. Locking the Caster After moving the unit to the desired position, lower the four caster stoppers to the lock position. To unlock a caster, raise the stopper.

[6] Operation Method 6-1. Tilting the Mattress Platform To tilt the mattress platform to an arbitrary angle, pull up and unlock the tilting lever at the front of the mattress platform.
CAUTION ••Do not apply more force than is necessary when tilting the mattress platform. ••Before using the unit, confirm that the mattress platform can be smoothly tilted and that it locks when tilted.
6-2. Adjusting the Height of the Mattress Platform To unlock, pull up the height adjustment lever on the side of the mattress platform. To raise the height of the mattress platform, grip the lever and apply a small amount of force to lift it up. To lower the height of the mattress platform, grip the lever and push down the edge of the mattress platform in its center as indicated in the diagram on the right.
CAUTION ••Do not apply more force than is necessary when adjusting the height of the mattress platform. ••To lower the height of the mattress platform, push down the edge of the mattress platform in its center. Trying to push down the front of the mattress platform will apply too much force to the unit, and may cause it to break. ••Before using the unit, confirm that the height of the mattress platform can be smoothly adjusted and that it locks when adjusted.
[7] Cleaning and Disinfection
CAUTION Clean and disinfect the unit whenever you notice dirt or stains which might cause an infection. The unit is shipped without being disinfected. Be sure to clean and disinfect the unit before using it for the first time after purchase. See the accompanying document of the disinfectant you are going to use for appropriate concentration, contact time and handling. Follow the directions for use and dosage and precautions given in the document. Clean and disinfect the unit whenever you use it for another infant. Obtain a soft clean cloth and a disinfectant solution for cleaning and disinfection. ■Recommended disinfectant solutions include: ●Benzalkonium ● chloride aqueous solution (e.g. Osvan) ●Benzethonium ● chloride aqueous solution (e.g. Hyamine) ●Chlorhexidine ● aqueous solution (e.g. Hibitane) Do not use any abrasive cloth, cleaner, alcohol, acetone or other solvent for cleaning and disinfection. Do not autoclave. Never use the above agents undiluted.
7-1. Caster If hair or dust is stuck in the wheels of the caster, remove it with tweezers, etc., and wipe the wheels with a soft cloth, etc. dampened with disinfectant solution.
7-2. Mattress Do not tumble dry the mattress cover or the mattress filling. Doing so may cause it to shrink or warp. When washing the mattress filling, wash it in water or immerse it in a disinfectant solution, and dry it in the shade.
[8] Disposal The medical institution concerned is responsible for proper disposal of the main body and old parts past their expected life span in accordance with applicable waste disposal laws and regulations.
