2 Service instruction Instruction for all general service repairs WARNING! Unplug power cord from mains, ensure no electrical current is detected before starting to repair!
Attention: Before commencing the repair please go through the following check list: Problem
Solution
Pump does not start
Check that the power cord is connected to an approved electrical socket.
Check that the electric socket is functional.
Check the fuses. The patient is bottoming out The pressure might be incorrectly set. Adjust according to the weight table and wait a few minutes. Check again using a Hand Check, see chapter 3.4/4.4 in user manual. NOTE! If you use model 2 the support pump must be connected first.
Check that the CPR valve is closed. (Only for model 1)
The mattress moves around Check that the mattress is secured with the elastic bands to the underlying mattress. Pump is noisy, vibrations are felt

Check that the pump hangs correctly on the bed. Resonance can occur in parts of the bed. Remove the pump and listen for a difference. This can be fixed by placing the pump on the floor.

T1 Confirm pressure range (for CuroCell S.A.M ® pressure testing) 1.
Use power switch to start the pump.

Connect a suitable pressure meter with mmHg scale to one of the air outlets. Block the other air outlet securely.
3.
Turn the pressure adjustment knob to the lowest setting and observe the pressure reading once the pressure is stable (normal pressure 10~15mmHg).
4.
Turn the pressure adjustment knob to the highest setting and observe the pressure reading once the pressure is stable (normal pressure 40~50mmHg).

2.2.5 Service repair - standard operating procedure T2
T2 Pressure adjustment (for CuroCell S.A.M.® pressure calibration procedure) 1.
Use appropriate tool (i.e. pliers) to carefully remove pressure adjustment knob, avoid damages or scratching.

Use power switch to turn pump on.
3.
Connect a suitable pressure meter with mmHg scale to one of the air outlets. Block the other air outlet securely.

Adjust the pressure to 10 mmHg on the pressure meter using pliers to turn the adjustment srew (using a screwdriver may damage the adjustment screw), clockwise to increase the pressure, counter-clockwise to lower it.

Align the arrow on the adjustment knob with the index for minimum pressure on the front panel, then push it onto the adjustment screw. A small adjustment may be necessary to align the splines in the knob with the screw.

Check minimum and maximum pressures to confirm that the pressure range is correct.

NB: Pressure range is critical to the optimal performance of the support surface. Optimal pressure setting has been pre-calibrated from the manufacturer. We do not recommend resetting the pressure range unless it is absolutely necessary.
