![CLEANSPACE™ STERI-PLUS EXHALATION VALVE FILTER CASE [CS3038] CLEANING GUIDELINES These instructions refer to the cleaning of the CLEANSPACE™ STERI-PLUS EXHALATION VALVE FILTER CASE [CS3038]. The Steri-Plus is an accessory that, when fitted to the front of a CleanSpace half mask, is designed to filter the air exhaled by the wearer when worn in sterile environments or where Source Control is required. Steri-Plus is comprised of a reusable case (blue, polycarbonate and white, ABS) and consumable filter (nonwoven electrostatic media) COMPATIBILITY WITH CLEANING AND DISNFECTANT AGENTS: The Steri-Plus case parts are comprised of ABS and polycarbonate compatible with standard cleaning and disinfecting agents and wipes. This includes (but is not limited to) 70% alcohol, chlorine/bleach or hydrogen peroxide based agents. Do not use rinse aid or drying aid with this part. Contact CleanSpace if you are unsure or have questions about the cleaning and disinfecting agents compatibility with the parts. CLEANING STEPS: 1. Remove the Steri-Plus accessory from the front of the mask. The best way to remove the accessory is to squeeze the mask with one hand whilst pulling the Steri-Plus off the exhalation valve assembly using a twisting motion. Once the Steri-Plus has been removed from the mask, open the case and remove the used filter. To open the Steri-Plus case, place your thumb on the end of the white case where there is a dimpled print and holding the blue outer case, pull outwards to unclip the white case. Once unclipped the filter case will swing open and the used filter can be removed. Discard the used filter. The filter is not reusable.
3. Use one of the following methods to clean the reusable case: ▪
Wipe down with disinfectant wipes ie Clinell, Tuffy Wipes

Wash in warm soapy water and disinfectant. Allow to dry
▪
Wash in an auto-washer disinfector as per protocols set out by your facility’s infection control team or CSSD. Note: The case is compatible with standard hospital cleaning and disinfectant agents. Do not use rinse aid or drying aid.

After cleaning, allow the Steri-Plus case to air dry in a clean environment away from sunlight. The component can also be dried with a clean, lint-free cloth. Insert a clean filter ready for use.

Do not use rinse aid or drying aid
▪
Do not autoclave this part
▪
Do not use water or drying temperatures above 95°C/203F
▪
Do not clean the filter. This is a non-reusable part.

This is an addendum (A8_REV1) to the CleanSpace Cleaning Instructions (V6).
