Emergency-Ventilation with the OXYLATOR® OXYLATOR® EMX  o o  o  o  o  Open the main valve of the cylinder. Rotate the airway-pressure selector to 20 cmH2O.  Manual mask ventilation – press the O2 button for inspiratory flow, release it for passive exhalation. Every second of inspiratory time delivers 500 ml of volume of oxygen towards the patient’s airway. Try to achieve an inspiratory time of 1.5 to 2 seconds not exceeding the pressure setting of 20 cmH2O.  o o  o  Press the O2 button and turn it clockwise Now the OXYLATOR® is in automatic mode  If the patient is intubated, you can adjust the pressure setting between 20 – 45 cmH2O to achieve 1.5 to 2 seconds of inspiratory time.  Place the mask on the patient’s face. Assure that there is a proper mask seal. Hold the mask with both hands and tilt the head.  o o o  o  o  Manual ventilation with an intubated patient - press the O2 button for inspiratory flow, release it for passive exhalation. Every second of inspiratory time delivers 500 ml of volume of oxygen towards the patient’s airway.  The addition of a capnometer or an ETCO2 monitoring device to the OXYLATOR® allows you to adjust the OXYLATOR® to the patient’s needs.
