Disassembly/Assembly Muffler
Open the flap by lifting the lower
edge upwards.
Close the flap.
Pull the muffler as far it will go
to the left.
Push the muffler to the
right into the socket.
Remove the muffler from
the socket.
Fit the muffler into the socket.
Disassembly/Assembly Neonatal Expiratory Valve
Turn the locking ring as
far as it will go to the right
until it clicks into place.
Remove and empty the water
trap container.
Remove the expiratory valve from
the fitting.
Turn the locking ring as far as
possible to the left and push the
expiratory valve into the fitting.
Remove the diaphragm.
Fit the diaphragm onto the edge
of the expiratory valve housing.
The muffler is only attached to the Babylog® VN500. It is only available with
an 11 mm diameter port. The Babylog® VN500 is dedicated to neonatal and
pediatric patient population.
Fit the water trap container.

Neonatal Flow Sensor
Disassembly/Assembly
Reprocessing of Neonatal Expiratory Valve
Before manual cleaning
prepare cleaning solution. Before
and after immersion fit a syringe
containing 20 ml of solution to
the ejector channel. Inject and
extract the solution several times.
Disassembly/Assembly Neonatal Flow Sensor
Remove the breathing hoses
from the neonatal flow sensor.
Fit the breathing hoses to
the neonatal flow sensor.
Disconnect plug of the flow
sensor cable from the
neonatal flow sensor.
Connect plug of the flow
sensor cable to the
neonatal flow sensor.
This guideline does not replace or amend the instructions for use for Infinity Acute Care System Workstation Neonatal Care.
The instructions for use and the hospital guidelines and policies always have to be observed.
Gently press the knobs on
both sides while pulling the
insert out of the neonatal
flow sensor.
Fit the insert into
the flow sensor.

Reprocessing instructions
Manual cleaning and disinfection
Reprocessing of ISO 15 Neonatal Flow Sensor and Y-piece Neonatal Flow Sensor*
At the beginning and end of the
entire reprocessing procedure
vigorously swirl both parts for at
least one minute.
Prepare cleaning solution.
Immerse flow sensor housing
and sensor insert bubble-free
in the cleaning solution.
Ensure that the solution flushes
all surfaces and interior spaces.
Sufficiently rinse the housing and
the insert in water (preferably
drinking-water quality) ...
... until no cleaning agent
residues can be recognized.
! For disinfection, repeat step 1 to 4 with disinfection solution.
Final check and drying for
both Flow Sensors
Check parts for visible soiling or
damage. Check the sensor insert
for damage to the measuring
wires and their pegs. Thoroughly
shake out residual water.
Allow the flow sensor to air dry for
at least 30 minutes.
When using Y-piece Neonatal Flow Sensor please add the steps 2a-2c to the cleaning and disinfection immersion step
(step 1 and 2), always using the corresponding cleaning or disinfection solution.
2a
At the beginning of immersion
(step 1 and 2) flush each opening
of the housing with cleaning
solution using a 20 mL syringe.
2b
Clean the housings with a lint-free
brush: Insert the brush ten times
each vertically into both ports of
Y-piece and pull it out again and
insert it ten times each diagonally
into both angles of the opening
for the sensor insert and pull it
out again.
! For disinfection, repeat step 2a to 2c with disinfection solution.
* The Neonatal Flow Sensor is also working with Evita Infinity® V500.
This guideline does not replace or amend the instructions for use for Infinity Acute Care System Workstation Neonatal Care.
The instructions for use and the hospital guidelines and policies always have to be observed.
2c
At the end of immersion flush
each opening of the housing
once more with cleaning solution
using a 20 mL syringe.
