Operating Instructions CeCon 3000
1.1 Correct use 1.1.1 Concentrate supply system CeCon 3000 The CeCon 3000 is used as the central concentrate supply unit in dialysis centres (optionally bicarbonate or acetate acid). This involves pumping the concentrate out of containers and into a supply line via the CeCon 3000. The CeCon 3000 ‘s task is to supply up to three types of concentrate from a maximum of six containers. If two containers are connected per type, the CeCon 3000 automatically switches over from the empty container to the full container. Possible unit combinations: Requirements: Ring line system according to ISO 11197: PE/PA piping or hoses PE-Xa pipeline Hard or soft PVC Dialysis unit: Connect only to dialysis units which can be operated with a concentrate pressure of 0.3 to 0.5 bar. Optional units: Central line system, can be controlled via potential-free status outputs Remote control
Perfect functioning of the CeCon 3000 with the listed units is guaranteed by DWA. Compatibility must be checked in each case if other system combinations are used. Performance changes and modifications to components supplied by other manufacturers and with other dimensions require an inspection and approval by the manufacturer. The CeCon 3000 may only be used for its intended purpose. Any other use shall be regarded as incorrect. The company DWA GmbH & Co. KG shall not be liable for any damage resulting from such incorrect use. Such risks shall be borne by the operator alone. Correct use also includes observing the operating and maintenance instructions stipulated by DWA GmbH & Co. KG as well as the servicing conditions.
The CeCon 3000 may only be used, maintained and serviced by persons who have the appropriate specialist knowledge and who have been informed about the hazards
1.2 Correct use The system is designed and constructed in accordance with the current state of the art and the recognised safety regulations. However, problems with the system or individual units or other assets can arise during use. The system may only be used for its intended purpose when it is in a completely safe condition, see Appendix 1. Faults must be remedied immediately.

2.6 General information and recommendations 2.6.1 Maintenance In order to guarantee perfect functioning of the system, it is necessary to observe the maintenance intervals.
2.6.2 Operation The CeCon 3000 can start up and stop automatically, depending on the control system.
2.7 Hazards from electrical energy Have work on the electrical supply carried out only by a trained electrician
Check the system’s electrical equipment regularly. Loose connections and singed cables must be remedied immediately.
2.8 Maintenance, servicing, remedying faults Carry out the stipulated maintenance work on time as described in Section 12 Maintenance. Inform operating personnel before the start of maintenance and servicing work. All system components upstream and downstream of the system, as well as operating media such as compressed air, water, and / or similar, must be safeguarded to prevent accidental putting into operation. The mains plug must be pulled out before all repair work. Check that the screw connections are secure. Check the function of the safety fixtures after completing the maintenance work.
2.9 Structural modifications to the system Do not make any modifications, additions or conversions to the system without the manufacturer’s approval. All conversion work requires written approval from the company DWA Replace any system components which are not in a perfect condition Use only original spare parts and wear parts.
–
With parts obtained from other sources, it is not guaranteed that they are designed and manufactured to meet the necessary stress and safety requirements.
2.10 Cleaning the system Cleaning the outside parts of the system Use a soft cloth moistened with water and / or a standard household cleaning agent. Remove dirt marks or dust. Do not clean the system parts with easily volatile solvents such as thinner, benzene or chemical cleaning sprays. These could damage the system’s surfaces.

5 Setting up and putting into operation for the first time
Only authorised persons may enter the installation room !
5.1 Installation location, place of use The installation room for the CeCon 3000 must be designed as a wet room. Ensure that the installation room is tiled if possible, does not enable condensation water to form, has sufficient ventilation, has a relative humidity of no more than 90% at 20°C, has a room temperature of between 10°C and 35°C
5.2 Setting up the system Avoid placing the unit down on sloped surfaces. Please refer to the installation plan on page 14 for the dimensions and connections.
5.2.1 Putting into operation The CeCon 3000 is put into operation by a DWA service technician and is ready for start-up when handed over to the operator.

5.3 Energy and supply connection data
5.3.1 Mains connection 230V / 50-60 Hz / 250 W
5.3.2 Remote Control As an option a remote control is available at DWA The potential-free alarm outputs of the system CeCon 3000 can also be connected to building monitoring systems. Electrical connection:
max.: 24V 3A
Error message line from the system to the remote display as a 7-core signal-cable (e.g. LIYCY 7 x 0,34 mm² or similar).
5.3.3 Concentrate container connection 7 x 1.5 mm hose with matching hose grommet (must be supplied by the container supplier for each container).
5.3.4 Waste water connection Floor drain near the system
5.4 Building-side preparations The dialysis unit must be suitable for being operated with a concentrate pressure of 0.3 – 0.5 bar. The CeCon 3000 system cannot operate with systems tolerating no pressure at the input The system supplies up to 60 dialysis (depends on the flow) units in one storey (on one floor). Also working on two or three levels is possible with the CeCon 3000 system extensions In order to allow automatic container switchover, two containers of each concentrate type must be connected to the concentrate supply.

5.6 Method
5.6.1 Acetate / bicarbonate version The respective containers (see Installation Plan) are connected to the system via connection hoses. To enable the system to be filled, an automatic bleed facility with hose pumps is installed, via which the air is removed by suction. This also allows out-gassing of the bicarbonate components.
5.6.2 Switching contacts The pre-settling tank serves as a buffer vessel between the container and the ring line. Two switching points are defined via Reed contacts in the pre-settling tank. Upper switching contact The pre-settling tank is filled with concentrate. The bleed pump is automatically switched on when the contact is left. Lower switching contact When the contact is reached, the system automatically switches to the other container of the same concentrate type. The bleed pump stops simultaneously.
5.7 Container change The other container (the same line) is automatically put into operation when one container is completely empty. To guarantee fault-free concentrate delivery, the second container must be in a state of readiness, i.e. the system must be bled and acknowledged. When the system switches from one container to the other, a signal appears in the display field showing which container is empty. Connect a new full container. Slowly open the outlet valve of the container. Pressing the key automatically bleeds the system and resets the display.
5.8 Safety switching In the event of incorrect container changing or when both containers are emptied (one line), an alarm message is output and the line is switched off. After a new, filled container is connected, the system must be bled by pressing This acknowledges the alarm.
