1 GENERAL INFORMATION 1.1 INTRODUCTION Filtrex portable HEPA filtered air purifier / air cleaner has been engineered and crafted to provide safe and high-quality indoor air. Filtrex air cleaners include true HEPA filters and 3 or 4 stages filtering which provide one of the most effective mechanical filtration methods available. The prefiltered air passing through the main HEPA filter and internal design ensures zero-leakage negative pressure barrier of the device and prevents escape of unfiltered air to the room. Filtrex air cleaner models continuously clean the indoor air and helps reduce airborne bacteria, germs and mold spores by drawing air through the HEPA filter which traps and collects these particulates. Filter trapped airborne microorganisms are eliminated from the filter material by additional UV germicidal over the filter and results a microbiological reduction up to 100%. All Filtrex instruments and units work under High Performance – Optimal Air Volume and Air-Velocity methodology principles. The following advanced engineering methods ensure the protective containment properties of Filtrex devices. •
CFD MODELLING AND SOPHISTICATED ANALYSIS OF AIRFLOW DYNAMICS
•
CRUISE CONTROL AIRFLOW CORRELATED WITH THE AIR RATE
•
DEAD ZONE AND TURBULENCE FREE PERFORMANCE
•
INCREASED ERGONOMICS AND OPERATOR COMFORT
1.2 DESIGN & OPERATION PRINCIPLES The working principles of the Filtrex Air Cleaners are as follows: Filtrex AC-1500 Portable Hygienic Air Cleaner works under principles of air recirculation & air filtration airtight construction and design prevents the air leakage by keeping filtration chamber under negative air pressure. The room / ambient air is taken from the bottom of the device (inflow air). The air is firstly put through a two-stage pre-filtration. Then the air has a final purification from microparticles via a HEPA filter. This is then released to the environment through the air distribution diffuser. Inside the unit has an adjustable air mixture rate. Air cleaning performance covers minimum floor space by its compact design. Air speed can be controlled. Fresh and recycled air are mixed at preset rate. The intake of clean air by the unit before reaching the target area does not occur which prevents the air short circuit. Indoor airflow model is shown in the Figures below. The air exchange rates (ACH) are obtained in practice and High Supply-Low return method is recommended in ASHRAE and CDC standards. The number of particles in a given room will be removed 99% within first 15 minutes with an average ACH of 25 at the pressure of +10 Pa. As the clean air is released close to the ceiling area of the room, a positive pressure field is created on the top part of the room. By this air pressure effect the polluted room air is pushed towards the cleanroom to floor area. Short circuit in air movements (suction of the clean air by the device before the air is released into the environment) is prevented. This ensures an active particle removing speed.

GENERAL INFORMATION The device can be adjusted with connection options to create positive and negative pressure. In the positive pressure mode, the device can receive air from outside by using the duct connection that has been established. In the negative pressure mode, the device can exhaust a portion of the Hepa filtered air through the duct connection that has been established to the external environment. By pre-filtration, the contamination of the inner parts of the device is prevented and the lifespan of the HEPA filter is extended. The surfaces of the pre-filters are disinfected by UV lights to prevent the breeding of microorganisms.
