Turn on Humidifier by briefly pressing power switch (1) Unit will default to last mode used. Select desired mode by holding down Mode Button (3) repeat until desired mode is selected. IPPV Mode: This mode is preset for intubated patients. The temperature for the patient side is controlled to 40°C and chamber side to 37°C. NPPV Mode: This mode is preset for patients using a NIV (Non Invasive Ventilation) interface. The temperature for the patient side is controlled to 34°C and chamber side to 31°C. MANUAL mode: This mode allows the selection of temperatures for patient side and chamber side. The set values can be changed by following the instructions in Section 5.3.4 of the Instructions For Use. Temperature Display (2). The display shows either chamber outlet temperature or patient temperature (whichever is selected as default). To display the alternate measured temperature, hold down the alarm silence button (8) for 2 seconds, the display will then revert after 10 seconds. Alarms. An audible alarm will sound. A status indicator LED (7) on the front panel will highlight the location of the fault. The audible alarm can be muted for 2 minutes by pressing the alarm silence button (8). If an Alarm state is left unresolved for 10 minutes, the humidifier will enter stand-by, with the display showing “000”. Switch humidifier off and on to exit stand-by.

Mount Humidifier Heater Base. Mount the heater base using an appropriate bracket; ensure the top of the humidifier chamber is placed lower than patient airway entry position. Mount humidifier chamber onto humidifier base. Ensure chamber clicks into place. Connect patient circuit to chamber. See example below. Add water to humidifier chamber. Follow chamber manufacturers guidelines. Heated Wire. Ensuring that the white arrows on both connectors are aligned, connect the appropriate heated wire electrical adaptor to the Black/Yellow Push-Fit connector on heater base. Connect the cloverleaf connector to the inspiratory heated wire limb; if using a Dual Heated Circuit, connect oval connector to the expiratory heated limb connector. Dual Temperature Probe. Ensuring that the white lines on both connectors are aligned, connect the dual temperature probe to the Green/Silver Push-Fit connector on heater base. Then insert the temperature sensors in to their appropriate ports on the inspiratory limb, as shown in diagram below. Connect power cord to AC wall socket Turn on gas supply equipment (Ventilator). Connect the ventilator to the gas supply and turn on and carry out pressure (tightness) testing applicable to that ventilators protocol. Water Bag Spike
