Description This Information Notice details how to download the Event Log of the P5000 Directly to a PC using Hyper Terminal. For this demonstration we have used Hyper Terminal Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional.
Configuration of the 9 Pin serial cable A 9 pin D socket to 9 pin D socket is used to connect the PC serial port to the pump. The cable is a standard off the shelf cable that has been modified and should be configured accordingly. The connections are:PUMP PUMP PUMP

Pump set up Step 1
Connect cable between the pump’s serial port and Com port of your PC.
Step 2
Turn the pump on whilst holding the ‘Run’ button to activate Tech Mode. Enter the access code 794. This code will initialize the ability to view the full Event Log, when in normal operation. Turn the Pump off.
Step 3
Turn the pump on and select ‘No’ to clear previous information. Press the ‘History’ button until the pump’s event log is displayed.
Step 4
Use the Chevron keys to position the cursor to the start of the events to be downloaded.

Select Hyper Terminal on your PC, enter ‘Hyper Terminal File name’ (i.e. P5000 ELDU) and select an icon.
Step 2
Select Com 1 and press ‘OK’ (Leave the Country/region and Area as default). Ensure Com 1 is not already pre configured (example: pre configured for hand held PC). Configure Properties as shown below (Step 2b) then press ‘Apply’ then ‘OK’. Step 2b

Select ‘File’ → ‘Properties’ → ‘Settings’ and configure accordingly as shown below

Step 4
Select ‘Transfer’ → ‘Capture Text’. Enter file name and desired location for data to be saved to (example D:DATAPCAM EVENTLOG). Select ‘START’.
Step 5
Press the pump ‘PRINT’ button.
Step 6
Once finished the history data will be displayed on the screen.
Step 7
Close and Save Hyper Terminal.
Step 8
Locate the saved file (example D:DATAPCAM EVENTLOG) and open it using ‘WORDPAD’. Save the ‘WORDPAD’ document as a ‘TEXT’ document…..See Below for details. -
Select ‘File’ ‘Save As’ Enter ‘File Name’ (i.e. Pumps Serial Number) ‘Save As Type’ (Unicode Text Document)
