Introduction
Design and function of the Ultra Observer Leica ULT500 Function of the Leica ULT500 The Leica ULT500 is a beam splitter with eight optical outlets. It is a purely optical unit. The microscopic object can thus be made visible for two users and one photo or video camera simultaneously. It has the same properties as the Leica DI C500 without the function of mirroring data or video images. The Leica ULT500 does not have any electrical connections.

Mounting the Leica HDI500 handles Warning 1 Patient may be injured if unit falls! ➩Do not mount the handles over the patient. Replacing your old handles with the new Leica HDI500 handles: ➩Loosen the 19 hexagon nut and unscrew the old handle. ➩Screw on the new handle. ➩Tighten the nut with a wrench.
19
➩Lay the cable of the handles loosely. The loosely laid cable must not impair the mobility and function of your microscope. If you are using a Leica ULT500 : The cable of the handles must be clamped between Leica ULT500 and optics carrier (see chapter "Mounting the Leica ULT500" on page 10). Positioning the right handle: Also with Leica ULT500, the spacer 29, which is included with the product, allows you to use the extension plates to position the right handle on the optics carrier individually. ➩Position the extension plates and screw them onto the optics carrier above the spacer using 4 hexagon socket screws. ➩Screw the handle onto the extension plate using four hexagon socket screws. Leica recommends positioning the extension plates for the right handle as shown in the figure: 18
