Operations 1. Connect the power cable. 2. Turn on the mains switch on the back of the instrument. The green POWER lamp on the control panel will illuminate. 3. Push the RUN/STOP button on the control panel to heat the Leica HI1210 up to the previously entered set temperature. The display reads the actual value. 4. The required temperature is selected using the ARROW buttons. At this stage, the indicated value is the set temperature. Once the appropriate temperature is displayed, the ARROW button should be released. The indicated set value will be memorised automatically. After about 2 seconds the display returns to actual temperature. To select the required temperature hold the corresponding ARROW button depressed. For the first 8 digital steps the indication will change slowly. After that, the speed of the step indication will increase. 5. The set temperature can be verified by pushing the SET button. The set temperature is maintained even if the instrument is switched off (with the RUN/STOP button or mains switch), disconnected from mains, or in the event of a power failure.
6. To switch off push the RUN/STOP button. In daily routine operation, it is not necessary, however, to switch the instrument off with the mains switch. 7. Cleaning: Lateral ventilation slits are avoided on the Leica HI1210. The control panel is protected with a foil. This ensures smooth, easy-to-clean surfaces. All surface materials are resistant to detergents commonly used in laboratories. The instrument must be switched off and cool for cleaning. Organic solvents such as xylene must not be used for cleaning!
Safety precautions The instructions for use must be read carefully prior to operating the instrument. • It must be ensured that the power supply conditions in the laboratory correspond to the power rating indicated on the name plate of the instrument before connecting it to mains. • When installing the network cable, always ensure that it does not rest against the heated device surfaces at any time. • The surface can be very hot during operation. Flammable liquids must not be used! Risk of burning! Combustible or flammable substances must not be stored near the instrument! The instrument must be filled when operated. Minimum filling level: 1 cm
•
Prior to repair or maintenance, the instrument must be switched off and disconnected from mains.
