MODUS®
Opening the container - arrangement of implants in the container
Remove instrument and implant cases with holding rack from the sterilization container.
Fold holding rack sides down. Remove instrument and implant cases.
Stickers show the content and system size for each case.
Place index finger on the lid opener and use the other fingers to grip the edge of the lid on both sides.
1
Opening the container - arrangement of implants in the container
Push the opener in the direction indicated by the arrow.
Gently open the implant case from the lid opener side; remove the lid.
Unoccupied pins can be used to load additional stickers/plates (pay attention to plate geometry).
Push-buttons on the sides identify the type and length of the screws loaded in full and half screw rows. Expansion of the screw portfolio is possible.
To grasp the clip, use the slight indents located for this purpose on each side of the hole. Pull up vertically to remove the clip.
Important: position the forceps so that the hooks catch on the underside of the clip.
Plate can be removed by hand or using forceps. Important: Once removed from the clip, implants must not be re-inserted into the clip!
Removing plates
Remove plate clips with forceps (M-2009 or M-2019). These have special hooks which prevent the clip from slipping off.
2
Removing screws (FIFO - first in, first out)
HexaDrive screws: pick up screw by gently rotating the screwdriver blade with light axial pressure.
Cross-drive screw with self-holding: position the screwdriver blade on the screw head and gently exert axial downward pressure.
Non-self holding cross-drive screws with tension sleeve: position the screwdriver blade on the screw head, slide tension sleeve forward.
Always remove the screw closest to the pushbutton.
Always remove the screw closest to the pushbutton.
Always remove the screw closest to the pushbutton.
Extract the screw vertically from the clip.
Removing screws with the 90° screwdriver (FIFO - first in, first out)
HexaDrive screws using the 90° screwdriver: pick up screw by gently rotating the screwdriver blade with light axial pressure.
Non-self holding cross-drive screws with 90° screwdriver: position the screwdriver blade on the screw head and slide screw holding fork forward.
Always remove the screw closest to the pushbutton.
Always remove the screw closest to the pushbutton.

Checking the screws
Checking the screw diameter in the screw module provided for this purpose.
The screw will not fit in the hole for the next system size down. Important: Check SpeedTip screws in hole diameters 1.8 and 2.3. See the logo and information to the left of the hole scale.
Checking the screw length using screwdriver blades with self-holding properties (HexaDrive and cross-drive): read off the screw length at the end of the head.
Checking the screw length using screwdriver blades without self-holding properties (crossdrive with tension sleeve): read off the screw length at the marking (ring) on the tension sleeve.
Press the push-button on the side fully down and push the screws until the empty clip is over the ejector (directly adjacent to the push-button).
Release the push-button and the clip will be raised.
Remove the raised clip using forceps or by hand.
Removing empty screw clips
From behind, push the entire row of clips toward the push-button.
Important: Exert sufficient force to overcome any slight resistance.

Filling the implant case
Euro slot can be used to hang up the blister pack.
Open the blister pack by gradually pulling away the film.
Arrangement of the plates in the blister pack.
Arrangement of the screws in the blister pack.
Remove the plate clips from the blister pack with forceps, ideally M-2009, or by hand. To grasp the plate clip, use the slight indents located for this purpose on each side of the hole. Small hooks grasp under the clip and prevent slippage.
Identify the sticker in the implant case which matches the article number of the plate clip. Otherwise, the plate geometry may result in a lack of space
Place the clip on the designated pin and push it downward. Repeat the process until the pin is full. Important: pre-shaped implants (chin plates) have a spacer.
Filling the implant case - plates
The following information is on the plate clip: Article number, lot number, and a depiction of the plate geometry which is covered by the clip. Additional information about the plate, as applicable (TriLock symbol).
5
Filling the implant case - screws
The following information is on the screw clip: Left side: screw diameter and lot number. Head side: screw length, marking lines for drill allocation, screw type symbol (if applicable); Right side: screw diameter and article number.
Remove the screw clip from the blister pack with forceps or by hand.
Identify the screw row with the push-button matching the article number on the screw clip. The loading station is located at the other end of the screw row and is marked with a black sticker.
Tilt the forceps and insert the clip on the side opposite the push-button. Press screw clip down axially until it snaps correctly in place (indicated by a click). Then advance the clip toward the push-button. Repeat the process until the screw row is full.
To prepare the holding rack, fold both handles outward.
All cases have interlocking corners for stacking.
Correct assembly of instrument and implant cases
A locator pin in the instrument case ensures that the instrument tray will only fit in the case in the correct orientation. The figure shows incorrect positioning.
Correctly inserted instrument tray.
6
Closing the lid
Insert the tabs on the lid into the slots.
Make sure that the tabs are correctly inserted in the slots.
Close with gentle pressure. The catch will snap in place.
Removing and installing stickers
Turn the case over onto its back. Using both forceps arms, press down on the sticker to be removed until it snaps out of its initial locked position. Tip: insert the forceps arms through two holes located diagonally across from each other.
Remove the sticker using the forceps.
Use the forceps to place the new sticker on the appropriate pin.
Tilt the forceps and slide the sticker down until it snaps in place (indicated by a click).
7
Removing and installing push-buttons
Push the screw row apart gently with two fingers and the forceps ends. Lift out the push-button on one side of the track.
Grasp the sides of the push-button with the forceps and pull/tug upward. Remove the push-button.
Remove the spring and place it on the new push-button. Remove the lever by hand and insert it in the new push-button.
When inserting the new push-button, make sure that the guide slots on the button match up with the guide ridges on the rails. Push button downward.
