Operating Instructions neoBLUE® cozy LED Phototherapy Overview The neoBLUE cozy LED Phototherapy System is a lightweight and portable device that is positioned underneath the baby to deliver phototherapy via blue light emitting diodes (LEDs). The neoBLUE cozy system consists of an enclosed LED light panel, a mattress, a disposable mattress cover, and a power supply. The blue LEDs emit light in the range of 400 – 550 nm (peak wavelength 450-470 nm). This range corresponds to the peak absorption of light by bilirubin, and is thus considered to be the most effective for the treatment of newborn jaundice. Warning! The device should not be used on its own outside of an enclosure. There is a potential for the baby to roll off the device. Warning! The device uses ambient air to keep the LEDs cool. Do not use the device if the ambient temperature is warmer than 30ºC (86ºF). Setting up the neoBLUE cozy Device Administering Phototherapy Treatment 1. Plug the power supply into the base of the neoBLUE cozy device. Route the power cord of the neoBLUE cozy device so that it lies outside the vicinity of the baby and is plugged into a grounded (3-prong) power outlet. neoBLUE cozy power cord 4.
