Description The PALAMIX® vacuum pump is a compressed air operated vacuum pump. This generates a vacuum in the mixing cartridge of the PALAMIX® vacuum mixing system or the PALACOS® R+G pro, which allows mixing of bone cement under vacuum.
Maintenance and cleaning Regular maintenance of the PALAMIX® vacuum pump is not required. The pump housing can be cleaned with a soft cloth without aggressive detergents. Take care here that no cleaning fluid or water enters the PALAMIX® vacuum pump.
The PALAMIX® vacuum pump is located in the non-sterile area on the floor of the operating room.
Notes The PALAMIX® vacuum pump should not be used without a filter element. In the event of malfunctioning of the PALAMIX® vacuum pump contact your local Heraeus Medical representative.
Installation and connection The PALAMIX® vacuum pump is connected with the inhouse compressed air supply. The functional range of the pump is an operating pressure between 5 and 10 bar (0.5–1.0 MPa) air pressure. In order to allow the use of the PALAMIX® vacuum pump, it has to be connected to the mixing cartridge of the PALAMIX® vacuum mixing system or PALACOS® R+G pro. For this purpose, the respective vacuum hose supplied has to be connected via the activated charcoal filter to the PALAMIX® vacuum pump.
