Setting up your UPS and external battery box
1. Unpack the UPS and battery pack from their boxes. Please take care as the units are extremely heavy. 2. Find a suitable location for the UPS and battery pack to be placed. If sitting side by side, please ensure there is ventilation around the UPS for airflow. 3. You may stack the UPS on top of the battery pack as shown to the left, but you must not stack the battery pack on top of the UPS. 4. Please ensure the UPS and battery pack are installed in a dry, clean location, away from heat. The ideal temperature to ensure the longevity of the UPS and battery pack is 20 – 25ºC. 5. Do not plug in the UPS or battery pack yet.

5. Locate the external battery cover on the back of the UPS and battery pack.
6. The UPS will only have one external battery cover, and the battery box will have two. On the battery box, use the one at the top to link to the UPS. If you are linking a second battery box, please use the port at the bottom to link to the second battery box.
7. Next, locate the external battery cable that came with the battery box.
8. Put the cable in the slot at the top of the UPS. The cable can only go in one way with the release facing up.

10. If you need to disconnect the battery cable, press down the release and pull out.

The UPS will come on in standby mode. There will be an input value, but no output value.

12. Press and hold the ‘power’ button until you hear a beep.
13. The UPS will now come online, and you should have both an input and output value. The output value should be 230v. Once the set-up is complete, the UPS and battery box display should look like this.
14. Plug your refrigerator into one of the outlets on the back of the UPS. Your setup is now complete.
Please do not plug anything else into the back of the UPS, and do not plug more than one refrigerator into each UPS and battery pack, as this will reduce the protection time offered. In the event of a power failure, the UPS will revert to battery back-up and there will be a constant beeping which can only be silenced by pressing the ‘ESC’ button once.
