Quick guide for machine reprocessing Flexible endoscopes from Richard Wolf The Quick Guide is an overview. It does not replace the specific instructions for use of the respective flexible endoscope. The respective instructions for use must be observed. The Quick Guide can only be used as a supplement to the instructions for use. Manual precleaning 5 Disassembly before cleaning. Possibly, close the plug protection cap firmly. 10 3 4 14 Rinse out the channels with a 20 ml syringe filled with tap water (repeat 4 times). Connect the tube with the twistlock valve to the pressure gauge. Contact points must be dry. Close the knurled screw and inflate the flex. endoscope until the initial pressure drop is in the green area (100 - 200 mmHg). Open the knurled screw to release the pressure. Leaky if the pressure drops continuously after approx. 30 sec. Return the flexible Endoscope to Richard Wolf for repair. 6 7 8 9 Immerse the flexible endoscope and the spare parts in a basin filled with a certified cleaning solution. Fill the channels completely. Brush the outer surfaces on the handle of the flex. Endoscope and on the luer connectors using a cleaning brush until the surfaces look clean. 11 Use disposable cleaning brushes to brush the channels of the flexible endoscope under cold tab water from a faucet. Insert the sheath end of the brush first. 12 Rinse the outside of the flexible endoscope under cold water from a faucet. Use a syringe (20 ml) filled with cold water from a faucet to rinse out the channels and remove all traces of the cleaning solution. 13 Sterilization H2O2, LTSF, EO Wipe the outer surfaces with a moist lint-free disposable cloth. 2 Machine cleaning / disinfection / drying Connect the flexible endoscope to an automatic leakage tester. Machine disinfection (max. 60 °C) using a thermochemical or chemical process. Machine drying in the drying cycle in the washer-disinfector unit. Dry manually with a lint-free disposable cloth if necessary. Dry hollow spaces with filtered compressed air. Clean glass surfaces with a cotton swab soaked in alcohol (70 % isopropanol). For sterilization with H2O2 or EO use the pressure equalization valve. All connectors must be dry. For sterilization with H2O2 in a Sterrad 100S use the pressure equalization valve and boosters. Attach an LTSF valve or a pressure equalization valve for sterilization with LTSF. nly in flex. endoscopes with O a channel length > 500 mm and Ø < 1,0 mm For the low-temperature sterilization procedures H2O2, LTSF and EO, we recommend our universally applicable sterilization basket for flexible endoscopes (REF. 85841240), in which flexible endoscope and accessory parts are optimally stored and protected against vibrations during sterilization and transport. Recommended cleaning brushes Disposable cleaning brush (PU = 10 pcs) All connectors must be dry. Assembly of spare parts before sterilization according to the instructions for use, e.g. light connectors, stopcocks, etc. Diameter in mm 2 • Leakage tester for flexible endoscope, REF 163.903 • Pressure equalization valve, REF 163.904 • Disposable filter for sterilization in Sterisafe® DURO A3 for H2O2 (PU = 100 pcs), REF 38203401 For the low-temperature sterilization procedures H2O2, LTSF and EO as well as for sterile storage and transport, we recommend our Sterisafe® DURO A3 (REF. 382032000 for H2O2 / REF. 382032100 for LTSF and EO), which has a positive influence on the material compatibility of the flexible endoscope in sterilization processes with H2O2. • Disposable filter for sterilization in Sterisafe® DURO A3 for LTSF and EO (PU = 100 pcs), REF 38203501 No sterile packaging required by using disposable filters and the principle of Pasteur‘s loop between lid and base.
