ACL Punching Sleeve Set
Paessler's ACL Punching Sleeve Set (ACL= Anterior Cruciate Ligament) is used for harvesting and transplanting the graft in arthroscopic plastic surgery of the anterior cruciate ligament. As grafts autologous materials are used for example. Paessler's ACL Revision Set is used for harvesting large (autologous) bone plugs from the patient's iliac crest to repair the bone defect in plastic surgery of the an terior cruciate ligament.
1.1.1
Punching sleeve / Punching cylinder (ACL) The punching sleeve / punching cylinder serves to create the femoral and tibial tunnels, and to harvest autologous tissue from the iliac crest.

Combinations
The grip is attached to the punching sleeve / punching cylinder to facilitate work.
The ejector serves to remove the harvested bone plug or cartilaginous tissue from the punching sleeve or punching cylinder and, if possible, to transplant the plug or tissue during this procedure..
For atraumatic insertion of the punching sleeves.
Paessler's OCP Punching Sleeve Set (OCP=Osteo Chondral cobblestone Plasty) is used in arthroscopic chondroplasty. The defective cartilaginous tissue is punched out and replaced by healthy carti laginous tissue.
The punching sleeve serves to punch out the defective cartilaginous tissue and the graft. Paessler's ACL/OCP Punching Sleeve Set, in conjunction with endoscopic acces sories, is used for therapy in orthopedics and surgery. The products may only be used by adequately qualified and trained medical per sonnel. Contraindications directly related to the product are presently unknown. On the basis of the patient's general condition the physician/surgeon in charge must decide whether the planned use is possible or not. For further information see the latest medical literature.
CAUTION ! Caution if products are incorrectly combined ! Possible injury of the patient, user or others as well as possible damage to the prod uct. Different products should only be used in combination if their intended use and relevant technical data (working length, diameter, etc.) are the same. Follow the instruction manuals of the products used in conjunction with this prod uct.

Use CAUTION ! The products have only limited strength ! Exerting excessive force will cause damage, impair the function and thus endan ger the patient. Immediately before and after each use, check the products for damage, loose parts and completeness. Ensure that no missing instrument parts remain in the patient. Do not use products which are damaged, incomplete or have loose parts. IMPORTANT ! We recommend replacing the punching sleeves after 10 uses because the cutting edges will become blunt. When using punching sleeves / punching cylinders with blunt cutting edges the mechanical load will be big enough to cause the punching sleeves / punching cylinders to break, and will cause increased stress for the patient as well as pos sible damage to the graft.
6.1
Preparation
Check assembly (section 8.5) Perform a visual check (section 7 and 7.1) Screw on the sealing lid (2.2) until you feel the first resistance.
IMPORTANT ! If you screw on the sealing lid (2.2) as far as it will go it might get seized by ham mering during use and will require hight forces to be removed. The sealing lid (2.2) can be damaged while hammering the punching sleeve home. Replace the sealing lid (2.2) if it is damaged. 6.1.1

Illustration 1 Turn the locking mechanism (2.1) counterclockwise. The locking mechanism (2.1) is open. Insert the coupling element (1.2) of the punching sleeve / punching cyinder in the grip. Turn the punching sleeve / punching cyinder (1) into the grip (2). The internal pin of the grip must engage in the groove of the punching sleeve / punching cyinder. Turn the locking mechanism (2.1) clockwise. The two components should be locked together. Perform a functional check (section 7.2)
Additional notes and instructions for use:
The punching sleeves have different diameters than the punching cylinders: Punching sleeves: Internal dia. 3.5 mm to 8.5 mm Punching cylinders: Internal dia. 10 mm to 13 mm
The punching sleeves are used in conjunction with the small grip 8866.601 which has a removable sealing lid (2.2). The punching cylinders are used in conjunction with the large grip 8851.601 which does not have a sealing lid. For hammering in the punching sleeves / punching cylinders we recommend us ing the ACL Hammer 8866.956.

Checks CAUTION! If products are damaged or incomplete. Possible injury of patient, user or third person. Run through the checks before and after each use. Do not use products which are damaged or incomplete or have loose parts. Return damaged products together with loose parts for repair. Do not attempt to do any repairs yourself.
7.1
Visual check Check instruments and accessories for damage, sharp edges, loose or missing parts and rough surfaces. Check punching sleeves/ punching cylinders for possible cracks and dam aged cutting edges (fig. 3) Check sealing lid (2.2) for damage such as burrs. Any lettering, labeling or identification necessary for the safe intended use must be legible. Missing or illegible lettering, labeling or identification which may lead to wrong handling and reprocessing must be restored.
