Check connection between the bulb (4.6.), the air release valve (4.5.) (fan) and the tube. 5.3. Close air release valve (4.5.). 5.4. Lift net insert on the sleeve. Slide infusion bag underneath the net insert, with the bag opening directed downwards until the front suspension loop allows threading into the opening of the bag. 5.5. Thread rear suspension loop through front suspension loop 9
and suspend whole unit from infusion stand. 5.6. Generate required pressure by pumping the bulb (4.6.). Read values from manometer scale of manometer (4.4.). 6. Replacement of bladder 6.1. Withdraw bulb (4.6.) and air release valve (4.5.) from tube. 6.2. Withdraw manometer from tube. 6.3. Release velcro strip at rear of cuff sleeve (4.1.) by pulling on the loop. 6.4. Withdraw bladder from cuff sleeve. 6.5. Insert new bladder. Attach velcro and push manometer on the short tube and the bulb and air release valve on the long tube. For simplification, moisten tube connection with a little water before proceeding.
7. Care Cleaning, disinfection, sterilisation From time to time rub manometer and bulb with a soft moist cloth. Disinfection and sterilisation of the pressurised infusion unit is not required due to the unit not being in contact with the patient. According to the ruling teaching (Tübingen Medical Products Test Centre), sterilisation is only specified for surgery. The cuff sleeve may be washed from time to time at up to 60°C in a washing machine after removing the bladder. Straighten sleeve by hand after washing. Frequent laundring will affect the life of the cuff sleeve. Note! Do not iron sleeve! Never expose sleeve to intensive sunlight! Avoid touching the cuff cover, the bulb, the bladder or the tubes with sharp objects!
