Operation & Maintenance Instructions You will receive maximum value from your SalvinTorq® adjustable torque wrench if you acquaint yourself with these instructions for use and maintenance guidelines. Please read and follow these instructions carefully. Description SalvinTorq ® is an adjustable, manual, 4.0mm square, torque wrench with available torque settings of 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50 & 60 Ncm. Lubrication Prior To Sterilization The SalvinTorq ® has a Lubrication Portal that can be accessed at the 15 Ncm setting. At this point, insert a normal handpiece lubricant prior to autoclaving. Drainage Feature The blue collar assembly has four Drainage Slots that encircle the collar. Once the SalvinTorq® has been sterilized, sitting it on its collar base will allow any residual moisture to drain out through the Drainage Slots. Cleaning & Sterlization Before initial use and after each procedure, clean the torque wrench with a wet towel or disinfectant wipe. Rinse with warm tap water and wipe dry. Do not hold the wrench under running water allowing water to creep inside the wrench. The torque wrench may be sterilized by steam autoclave. It is recommended but not required to use de-ionized water in the autoclave to prolong the life of the torque wrench. Sterilize for 20 minutes at 135°C (275°F). Operation The SalvinTorq® adjustable wrench is designed to tighten or insert in a clockwise direction. When the wrench is rotated in the direction of the black arrow on the handle (clockwise), the wrench’s torque limit at the pre-set level will be obtained when the wrench head ratchet mechanism slips. The level of torque is indicated on the handle, and expressed numerically in Newton Centimeters (Ncm). When the wrench head is rotated against the direction of the black arrow on the handle (counter-clockwise), the wrench head will not apply any torque. For unscrewing or loosening, the wrench needs to be turned over so that the black arrow is facing downward. The SalvinTorq® adjustable wrench is designed to work with all 4.0mm, square dental implant drivers. Please consult the instructions included with the implant system for instructions on setting screws and inserting drivers. Lubrication Lubricate head ratchet slot and around top of blue dial so lubricate runs under dial with a penetrating oil once per month. Calibration The torque wrench mechanism is sealed and should not require calibration. Contact Salvin Dental should you have any questions about the performance of the wrench. Warranty The SalvinTorq® adjustable torque wrench is warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of purchase.
