IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
1.1
DEFINITIONS
This document contains important information relating to the safe and correct operation and maintenance of your TS6000 Transfer System. When reading this document, please be aware of the following definitions and conventions:
This symbol indicates useful or important information to be noted.
This symbol indicates important safety related information. Failure to comply with this information may result in personal injury.

INTENDED USE
The StaminaLift TS6000 is a transporting device that effectively and efficiently moves heavy wheeled objects such as hospital beds, trolleys and stretchers. The StaminaLift TS6000 is specifically designed for the transportation of beds and stretchers with a patient over smooth even floors within hospitals.

SAFETY FIRST
The Unit must only be operated by persons who have been trained to use it by an Agent or Trainer, and who have read and understood this manual. WARNING : Failure to use the Unit in accordance with this Manual may result in personal injury or damage to property, and will invalidate the Unit’s warranty (refer to Section 6.2).
Any serious incident or death that occurs in relation to this device should be reported to the manufacturer and the Competent Authority of the Member State in which you are located. If in doubt, please consult your Senior advisor on regulatory affairs.
TO ENSURE SAFE USE, ALWAYS: •
Use the Unit in the environmental conditions specified in Section 3.1.
•
Operate the Unit in accordance with Section 3.
•
Have an assistant guide the Bed when working in tight spaces or when the patient needs extra care during transportation.
•
Always approach a slope with the Unit and attached Bed oriented parallel to the direction of the slope.
•
Beware of the danger of crushing persons between the unit and walls when in drive mode
•
Lift and lower the Bed carefully to avoid jarring the patient.
•
Wear closed shoes when operating the Unit.
•
Keep hands and feet clear of the wheels.
•
Keep hands and fingers clear of the lifting mechanism.
•
Park the Unit in an area where it cannot cause a hazard (e.g. tripping).
•
Charge the Unit in accordance with Section 2.19.
•
Only connect the Battery Charger to a mains supply socket with protective earth.
•
Use the correct Battery Charger supplied with the Unit, specified in Section 2.19.
•
Clean and Decontaminate the Unit in accordance with Section 4.2.
•
Dispose of components in accordance with Section 4.7.
•
Only use accessories approved for the Unit by the Company.
•
Read, understand, and follow all instructions provided with the approved accessory.

TO PREVENT INJURY, NEVER: •
Operate the Unit whilst under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
•
Operate the Unit without the protective guards attached and the safety devices connected.
•
Operate the Unit in the vicinity (less than 25 cm) of anaesthetic gases.
•
Operate the Unit in an oxygen-rich environment.
•
Attempt to lift items in excess of the maximum safe working load of the lift mechanism (450kg)
•
Attempt to move objects in excess of 900kg.
•
Lower and release a Bed while on a slope.
•
Leave the Unit unattended in an area accessible to untrained persons.
•
Leave the Unit unattended while attached to a Bed.
•
Use the Unit as a toy; e.g. by riding on it or allowing others to ride on it.
•
Place heavy items on the Unit other than hospital Beds.
•
Let anything fall into the interior of the Unit
•
Expose the Unit to rain, moisture or other liquids.
•
Place containers filled with liquids on to the Unit.
•
Expose the Unit to excessive heat or naked flames.
•
Attempt to repair the product by yourself. All servicing must be done by an Agent in accordance with Section 4.4.
•
Attempt to manually handle or lift the Unit during assembly or normal operation. If the Unit cannot be moved under its own power enable the brake bypass or use the appropriate lifting equipment with a Safe Working Load of at least 200 kg.
•
Attempt to charge the Unit with another Battery Charger (other than the one supplied with the Unit), or attempt to use the supplied Battery Charger to charge any device other than the Unit.
Note: Do not attempt to move bed/patent combinations in excess of 800kg without assistance – Refer to Section 3.4

The TS6000 is not rated for use at high altitude (>2000m).

KEY FEATURES
The Unit is a self-propelled device designed to move hospital Beds under the control of a trained operator. Other hospital equipment may be moved with the use of approved accessories. The Unit has a number of key features which make moving hospital Beds faster, easier, and ergonomically safer than manual moving methods, including:

Simple operation – a single joystick controls forward, reverse, turning and lifting movements.
•
Smooth start and stop functions.
•
Automatic brakes that eliminate the possibility of free-wheeling.
•
No user calibration required before use. All settings are factory set.
•
An adjustable handle column for operator comfort.
•
Jaws that securely attach to the Bed’s castor wheels to prevent inadvertent disengagement.
•
Compact dimensions to allow access into standard elevators.
•
Non-marking wheels to prevent damage to floor surfaces.
•
Jaw Release bypass features (lower and open).
•
Brake Release bypass feature.
•
Suits Bed wheels measuring 125mm, 150mm and 200mm in diameter.
•
Suits 100mm Bed wheels by using the Jaw Insert Accessory (S00072), available separately
•
Suits bed wheels with outside to outside measurements ranging from 550mm to 1010mm.

2.4
UNIT OVERVIEW
Control Assembly Allows the operator to control the Unit. Handle Provides ergonomic access to the Control Assembly.
Lift Mechanism
Chassis Cover
Raises and lowers the bed/stretcher being moved by the Unit.
Covers all the equipment required to move the Unit, including wheels, batteries, motors, gearboxes and brakes.
Bypass System Brake Release Cap RH. Remove to access Brake Release pin.

TURNING CONTROLLER ON AND OFF
Turning on the Controller Press the on/off button The Battery Gauge LEDs will turn on one by one
After the controller has started successful the Battery Gauge shows the charge of the battery
Turning off the Controller Press the on/off button The Controller turns off. If the on/off button is pressed while the unit is moving the unit will perform an emergency stop before it turns off.
Out Of Neutral At Power Up If the Controller is turned on while the joystick is not in the centre position an “Out Of Neutral At Power Up” fault occurs.
During an OONAPU fault the speedometer LEDs flash continuously and the unit will not drive. As soon as the joystick is released back to the centre the unit will drive normally.
OONAPU is a feature that prevents sudden and unexpected movements if the joystick is not centred when the controller is turned on.

2.6
DRIVE MODE
Drive Mode is activated automatically when the controller is turned on. To select between Drive Modes, push the green arrow up or down.
The drive mode indicator LED will turn on as soon as the unit has been turned on via the On / Off button.
Drive Mode 1: Limits the software maximum drive speed to 80%. Recommended for operators that are learning on how to use the unit and for congested work environments with narrow corridors and limited space. Drive Mode 2: Limits the software maximum drive speed to 90%. Recommended for confident operators and work environments that are easier to navigate.
Drive Mode 3: Increases the software drive speed to 100%. Recommended for experienced operators and work environments with long and straight corridors.
Operate the Drive Function Move the joystick. The Unit starts to drive in the direction of the joystick movement. The amount of joystick movement determines the speed of the Unit. If the joystick is moved further from the centre, the Unit will drive faster.

2.7
SPEED DIAL
You can adjust the maximum speed of the unit to your preference or the environment. The currently selected top speed is indicated by the position of speed dial. The maximum speed of the unit is limited by the selected drive mode.
2.8
BRAKING To stop the unit, release the joystick. The brakes will be applied automatically. The brakes will safely stop the maximum safe working load (900kg) on a 7 degree slope.
*To ensure maximum braking performance do not use the unit on wet surfaces
2.9
EMERGENCY STOP BUTTON
Press the Emergency Stop Button to activate it. When depressed the Emergency Stop will stop drive, lift and jaw functions and activate the bypass System.
To release the Emergency Stop Button and re-activate the drive, lift and jaw functions, rotate the button clockwise.

2.10 LIFT & JAW MODE Activate the Lift Mode Press the Lift Function button to activate Lift & Jaw Mode. When Lift & Jaw Mode is selected the ‘Lift’ sign will illuminate orange.
Move the joystick forward to raise the Jaws.
Move the joystick in reverse to lower the Jaws.
Return to the Driving Mode
Press Drive Function to return to Driving Mode. The ‘Drive’ will illuminate in green.
2.11 JAW HEIGHT INDICATOR
Use the Lift mode to raise and lower the jaws.Raise the jaws to Drive position. The LED will be green.
Lower the Jaws to Connect position. The LED will be red.

2.12 JAW OPEN AND CLOSE For the jaw opening and closing, the lift & jaw function needs to be activated. (Refer to section 2.10.) Open the Jaws to the required width by deflecting the Joystick to the left. Close the Jaws to the required width by deflecting the Joystick to the right.
*The Jaw Open and Close Function will not operate if the Jaws are not in their lowest position with red LED showing.
2.13 THE HORN Press the horn button The horn will sound as long as the button is pressed.
2.14 HANDLE ADJUSTMENT
You can adjust the position of the handle by pulling the Handle Adjustment Lever upwards. Release the lever to lock the handle in the new position

2.15 BATTERY GAUGE Display
Meaning Power is off. The Unit is programmed to turn off if it has not been used for 15 minutes.
Power is on and batteries are fully charged.
Power is on and batteries are half charged. Recharge before undertaking a long trip.
Power is on and battery charge is low. Recharge as soon as possible.
Battery charge is very low. Do not attempt to lift a bed/stretcher. Recharge immediately.
The battery is completely empty. Battery damage will occur if not recharged immediately.
The charger is connected so the unit will not drive. The LEDs turn on one by one from left to right. A fault has occurred. All LEDs turn on one by one from left to right and the unit will not drive. The Fault Indicator LED will show a Flash Code. Contact your service agent. The LEDs slowly flash from right to left indicating that the Controller is locked.

2.16 JAW ADJUSTMENT Adjust the Jaws to suit 125mm, 150mm, or 200mm wheels to ensure secure attachment to the Bed. Ensure both left and right jaws are adjusted to suit the same wheel size.

The jaws of the TS5000 can be adjusted to suit 125mm, 150mm or 200mm diameter castor wheels. The blocks can be raised and seated to one of three positions while remaining attached to the machine. The pivoting Adjustment Flap can be positioned up or down. Align the inside edge of the Block with the marks on the Wheel Size Selector Label to suit the wheel size.
