Use of the scale Some remarks before weighing The baby may be weighed on a soft pad like a towel or even a soft paper. The weight of such objects can be tared off in order not to influence the weighing result of the baby. This can be done in in different ways: 1. Place the selected object on the baby tray before switching on the scale. The scale will now find the zero point including the weight of the object. 2. To start up the scale press the ON / TARE key. 3. During a function test you will recognize 3 times blinking of ‚8888’ on the display before the indication changes to zero (0.000). The scale is now ready for operation. 4. In case you prefer to put the soft pad after start up, place the object on the tray and press the ON / TARE key. The scale will tare off the weight of the object and come back to zero (0.000) (see also explanation of Tare Function below). 5. Place the baby on the weighing tray. 6. The display will indicate the babies’ weight and automatically starts blinking once it reached a standstill. In case the baby remains on the tray for a while the blinking weight indication remains on the display for another 5 minutes before the scale shuts off automatically. Taking the baby off the tray while the weight result is still blinking the display will come automatically back to the zero indication (0.000) before switching off automatically after 5 minutes. 7. For manual switch off hold key ON / TARE pressed for abt. 3 seconds. Tare Function (Tare) By using the tare function any unrequested weight (for example a nappy or babies’ clothes) can be subtracted. 1. Start up the scale and wait ‚0.000’ to be indicated on the display. 2. Place objects like nappy, clothes or other on the tray. 3. Press TARE key and ‚0.000’ will appear on the display. 4. Taking the objects off the tray the display will indicate a corresponding negative value. 5. Place baby including objects on the tray. 6. The weight displayed is just babies’ weight. 7. In case the value to be tared off is higher than 5 kg, the capacity of the scale reduces to 15 kg respectively the weight capacity of 20 kg minus 5 kg tare value. Select Weighing Unit Select the weighing mode (kg or lb) by simply pressing the UNIT key.

Memory Function The scale is equipped with a memory function in order to read the weight result after having taken care of the baby first. The weight result is stored under memory enabling the user to recall the weight at any time convenient. 1. Start up the scale as already described under ‚Use of the Scale’ 2. After the indication in the display stabilized and is blinking, press MEM key to store the weight result. During this process the display shows SET (in capital letters) and mem (in small letters). The weight taken was stored. 3. Taking the baby from the weighing tray the display comes back to zero (0.000) 4. Press MEM key again to recall the stored value. You will see the stored weight as well as the letters MEM on the display. Even after switch off and new restart of the scale the value remains stored. 5. To get back to weighing mode press MEM key again. 6. The procedure of storage can be renewed on each new weighing procedure.and will overwrite the value stored before. 7. Changing batteries means to delete the internal storage. To recognize this the display shows ‚Err’ when pressing the MEM key.
Maintenance and Care Cleaning advice - For cleaning just use a damp cloth or common disinfection products. Do NOT use any aggressive cleaning fluids. - Take care no water is penetrating the scale. This might cause severe damage to the electronic part and would set the scale out of order. Warning signals -
