This addendum is shipped for your convenience with the NGENUITY* Visualization System Upgrade, which is used exclusively with the Constellation* Vision System. Please note that this addendum is designed to supplement your Constellation* Vision System operator’s manual, rather than to be used as an independent manual; therefore, place this addendum in your Constellation* Vision System operator's manual behind the “Accessories and Parts” divider.

GENERAL INFORMATION
Introduction The NGENUITY* 3D Visualization System (NGENUITY* system) is a device that can be connected to the Constellation* Vision System (Constellation* system) or used as a standalone system. When connected to the Constellation* system, surgical parameters from the Constellation* system can be overlaid on the NGENUITY* system and video recording by the NGENUITY* system can be initiated by the Constellation* footswitch.

System Requirements
NGENUITY* System: Must have software version 1.2.7 or above. Constellation* System: Must have High Definition Video Overlay installed. Connecting the Constellation* Vision System to an NGENUITY* 3D Visualization System Please contact Alcon Technical Services for installation.
The NGENUITY* system can be connected to the Constellation* system to make use of the High Definition Video Overlay capability of the Constellation* system. This feature replicates some of the display values and parameters from the Constellation* screen onto the periphery of the NGENUITY* screen. The following information describes the hardware and software configuration for the NGENUITY* system connection to the Constellation* system. 1. HARDWARE SETUP 1.1 Connect the following cables to the connector panel on the rear of the Constellation* system. Refer to Figure A-1 for connector location. A - Connect (HDMI** Cable 2) Rx USB connector to Constellation* USB port. B - Connect (HDMI** Cable 2) Rx HDMI** connector to Constellation* HDMI** input port. C - Connect Long DB-9 serial data cable to RS-232 port. D - Connect (HDMI** Cable 1) Tx HDMI** connector to HDMI** output port.

Connect HDMI and RS-232 cables to the back of the EPU as shown in Figure A-1. E - RS-232 cable connects to COM2 port on EPU. F - Connect (HDMI** Cable 1) USB Rx connector to USB 2.0 connector on EPU. G - Connect (HDMI** Cable 2) HDMI** Tx connector to HDMI** secondary video output on EPU. H - Connect (HDMI** Cable 1) HDMI** Rx connector to HDMI** port at the bottom-left of EPU.
NOTE: Excess cable length may be coiled and stored in the EPU compartment. Coiled cabling should be positioned to avoid obstructing air flow and causing overheating. A-2

NOTE: First, the Constellation system must be turned on, then, no longer than 20 seconds later, the NGENUITY* system must be turned on, otherwise, the Video Overlay will not display properly.

Power on the Constellation* system. Power on the NGENUITY* system within 20 seconds of the Constellation* system.

Map Constellation* Footswitch to Toggle Video Recording (Optional) Tap the footswitch icon at the top-left of display. Tap the Configure button. Map one button on footswitch to Toggle Video Recording. Tap Apply to All Modes. Tap Save.
3. NGENUITY* SYSTEM SETUP
NOTE: When the Constellation* system is connected and Video Overlay is enabled, the secondary monitor settings are automatically configured for the overlay. In this configuration, output to a secondary monitor is not available.

Click the wrench button to display the system settings. Display of * Constellation system settings overlaid on the main NGENUITY* system display can be enabled here.

Click the Constellation* button and check the Overlay Constellation* box to turn on the Constellation* settings overlay.

Click the Input Source button to HDMI.
