QUICK REFERENCE GUIDE - CLEANING AND DISINFECTION
Auralis Accessories needed: • Spray bottle with disinfectant solution (either 70 % alcohol solution or chlorine solution up to 10 000 ppm) • Neutral detergent (cleaning solution) • Spray bottle with water • Cloths Clean and disinfect between patients and at regular intervals while in use. WARNING To avoid electrical shock, always disconnect the pump from the power source before cleaning and inspecting. Always read the instructions for use and the safety data sheet of the disinfectant. To avoid eye or skin irritation, never disinfect in the presence of a patient.
Preparation
1. Disconnect the pump from the mattress or seat cushion. 2. Switch off the pump and disconnect from the power source.
Clean the pump
3. Use a clean cloth and cleaning solution and wipe to remove any deposits or visible dirt on: • main enclosure • membrane • labels • hanging brackets 4. Any areas where residual dirt has been left should be cleaned again with cleaning solution. 5. Use water and a new cloth to wipe off all traces of cleaning solution, followed by a dry cloth.
Disinfect the pump 6. Spray disinfectant solution onto a dry cloth and spread the solution onto all areas. 7. Allow time for disinfection. 8. Use water and a new cloth to wipe off all traces of disinfectant solution. 9. Wipe with a dry cloth.

Clean mattress or seat cushion
10. Spray all external areas of the mattress or seat cushion top covers with cleaning solution and wipe off any dirt with a clean cloth. 11. Any areas where residual dirt has been left should be cleaned again with the cleaning solution before continuing. 12. Use water and a new cloth to wipe off all traces of cleaning solution, followed by a dry cloth to remove any excess moisture. 13. If necessary, clean the inside of the mattress or seat cushion. Unzip the top cover to access the internal components. 14. Spray the cleaning solution onto a dry cloth to wipe down: • cells • bottom cover • straps 15. Use water and a new cloth to wipe off all traces of cleaning solution, followed by a dry cloth.
Disinfect mattress or seat cushion 16. Spray disinfectant solution onto a dry cloth and spread the solution onto all external areas of the mattress or seat cushion top covers. 17. Allow time for disinfection. 18. Use water and a new cloth to wipe off all traces of disinfectant solution. 19. Wipe with a dry cloth. 20. Allow the mattress or seat cushion top cover to air dry. 21. If necessary, disinfect the inside of the mattress or seat cushion. Unzip the top cover to access the internal components. 22. Spray disinfectant solution on to a dry cloth and spread onto all internal components. 23. Allow time for disinfection. 24. Use water and a new cloth to wipe off all traces of disinfectant solution. 25. Wipe with a dry cloth. 26. Allow the internal components to air dry before reattaching the top cover of the mattress. 27. If required, the straps and base of the mattress or seat cushion can be cleaned using the same method. Unclip the straps for ease of access.
