INTRODUCTION This Service Manual & Parts List describes the procedure for repairing the Neo Cot. The procedures described in this manual should be carried out only by those who are trained in the operation of the unit. Neither Atom Medical Corporation nor its representative will be responsible for the quality and performance of the unit if the unit should not be handled as instructed or if unauthorized parts should be used in repairs. It should be noted that any responsibility arising from repairing the unit lies with the person who carried it out. Read this Service Manual carefully and familiarize yourself thoroughly with its contents before repairing the unit. Keep this Manual where it is readily accessible for reference when needed. For more detailed information on repairing the unit, contact your local Atom representative. Read the Operation Manual thoroughly before using the Service Manual.
SAFETY INFORMATION Please read this information carefully before operating the unit. Please follow the instructions when operating the unit.
Definitions of Warning Indication Three levels of warning indication are used throughout this Service Manual & Parts List and on the unit. They are defined as follows.
DANGER:
A DANGER notice indicates an immediately hazardous situation which, if not avoided, will result in death or serious injury, serious damage to property such as total loss of use of equipment, or fire.
WARNING:
A WARNING notice indicates an indirectly (potentially) hazardous situation which, if not avoided, will result in death or serious injury, serious damage to property such as total loss of use of equipment or fire.
CAUTION:
A CAUTION notice indicates a hazardous situation which, if not avoided, can result in minor or moderate injury, partial damage to equipment, and loss of data stored in computers.

Cleaning and Disinfection
[2] Cleaning and Disinfection CAUTION Clean and disinfect the unit whenever you notice dirt or stains which might cause an infection. This product is shipped without being disinfected. Be sure to clean and disinfect the unit before using it for the first time after purchase.
Clean and disinfect the unit whenever you use it for another infant.
MAINTENANCE
See the accompanying document of the disinfectant you are going to use for appropriate concentration, contact time and handling. Follow the directions for use and dosage and precautions given in the document.
Obtain a soft clean cloth and a disinfectant solution for cleaning and disinfection. ■Recommended disinfectant solutions include the following. Never use these agents undiluted. • Benzalkonium chloride aqueous solution (e.g. Osvan) • Benzethonium chloride aqueous solution (e.g. Hyamine) • Chlorhexidine aqueous solution (e.g. Hibitane) Do not use any abrasive cloth, cleaner, alcohol, acetone or other solvent for cleaning and disinfection. Do not autoclave the unit.
2-1. Caster If hair or dust is stuck in the wheels of the caster, remove it with tweezers, etc., and wipe the wheels with a soft cloth, etc. dampened with disinfectant solution.
2-2. Mattress Do not tumble dry the mattress cover or the mattress filling. Doing so may cause it to shrink or warp. When washing the mattress filling, wash it in water or immerse it in a disinfectant solution, and dry it in the shade.

Tilt the cot toward you.

Remove the double sems screw (M5×10), and

Loosen the nut, and remove the wire for the tilting unit.

Loosen the small pan head screw (M4×12).
(5)
Remove the E ring (nominal diameter: 6 mm), and remove the pivot shaft S.

Rotate the mattress platform tilting unit itself, and remove the tilting unit from the joint.
(7)
Replace the mattress platform tilting unit with a new one.

Reassemble in the reverse order of disassembly. Adjust the wire for the tilting unit after reassembly.

3-2. Replacing the Tilt Lever (1)
Perform steps (1) to (3) of “3-1. Replacing the Mattress Platform Tilting Unit.”

Place the cot horizontally.
(3)
Insert a precision screwdriver, etc. into the hole on the cover cap, and push open the tab to remove the cover cap.

••When pushing open the tab of the cover cap, make sure that you do not bend it. Cover cap

Remove the four double sems screws (M4×8), and remove the lever mounting plate. Remove the E ring (nominal diameter: 4 mm), and remove the tilt lever shaft.

Remove the tilt lever.
(7)
Remove the wire for the tilting unit from the tilt lever.
(8)
Replace the tilt lever.

Remove the transparent cot.
(2)
Perform steps (1) to (3) of “3-1. Replacing the Mattress Platform Tilting Unit.”
(3)
Perform steps (2) and (3) of “3-2. Replacing the Tilt Lever.”
(4)
Remove the E ring (nominal diameter: 4 mm), and remove the wire for the tilting unit.
(5)
Replace the wire for the tilting unit.

3-4. Replacing the Tilt Cushion (1)
Remove the transparent cot.
(2)
Perform steps (1) to (6) of “3-1. Replacing the Mattress Platform Tilting Unit.”
(3)
Remove the four U-nuts (M6), conical spring washers (M6), and plain washers (M6), and then remove the four cot lock levers.

Remove the four hexagon socket sems bolts (M6×10) and four plain washers (M6).
(5)
Remove the mattress platform from the table frame.

Remove the E ring (nominal diameter: 6 mm), and remove the pivot shaft L. Remove the table frame.

Remove the tilt cushion.
(9)
Attach the tilt cushion with instant adhesive.
(10) Reassemble in the reverse order of disassembly. Adjust the wire for the tilting unit after reassembly.

Remove the transparent cot.

(10) Reassemble in the reverse order of disassembly. Adjust the wire for the tilting unit and the wire for height adjustment after reassembly.
DISASSEMBLY AND REPLACEMENT
Lay down the base on its side, and loosen the small pan head screw (M4×20). Remove the four hexagon socket double sems bolts (M6×20), and remove the height adjustment unit. Replace the height adjustment unit.

Using a small flathead screwdriver or other tool, remove the base cap.
(2)
Replace the base cap.
(3)
Reassemble in the reverse order of disassembly.

Remove the caster. Replace the caster.
