Read through the entire manual before using the warmer. As with all medical equipment, attempting to use this device without a thorough understanding of its operation may result in injury to the patient or the user. This device should only be operated by personnel trained in its operation under the direction of qualified medical professional familiar with the risks and benefits of this type of device. Complete the checkout procedure in this manual before putting the unit into operation.
NOTE: If the unit fails any portion of the checkout procedures, it must be removed from use and repaired.
Power supply •
In the event of loss of main power the unit will enter into a power fail alarm condition.
NOTE: The unit will display a single red Light Emitting Diode (LED) in this condition on the right side of the alarm, refer to Alarms and Indication under Chapter 1. This audible alarm will give continuous beeps and the unit will remain in this power fail mode until the main power is restored.

Always disconnect the power before performing service or maintenance procedures. Apply power only if you are specifically instructed to do so as part of the procedure.
Service • •
Only competent individuals trained in the repair of this equipment should attempt to service it as detailed in the service manual. Detailed information for more extensive repairs is included in the service manual solely for the purpose of users who already have a good knowledge of tools and test equipments, and also for the service representatives trained by GE Healthcare.
Cleaning and General • •
Do not use the warmer in the presence of flammable anesthetics as an explosion hazard could occur under such conditions. Additional precautions specific to certain procedures are found in the following pages of this manual.

1.1 INDICATIONS FOR USE Infant radiant warmers provide infrared heat in a controlled manner to neonates and infants who are unable to maintain appropriate thermo-regulation based on their own physiology. Infant radiant warmers may be used to facilitate the neonate’s transition to the external environment after birth or to provide a controlled open microenvironment in a hospital setting.
