The influence of strong electromagnetic fields (e.g. through the use of HF therapy or surgical devices) can lead to malfunctions in the Barkey plasmatherm device. If interference of this type occurs, increase the distance between the Barkey plasmatherm device and the device causing the interference, or do not operate both devices at the same time. In each case check and document the cause of the malfunctions. The Barkey plasmatherm device works perfectly within the limit values set in the EN 60601-1-2 standard. The device can be affected by interference that is outside the limit values set by the EN 60601-1-2 standard. Portable and mobile HF communication equipment, such as mobile phones, can affect the device. Do not use the device in the immediate vicinity of • flammable materials (e.g. gases, liquids), • flammable mixtures of anaesthetic gases with air, • flammable mixtures of anaesthetic gases with oxygen or laughing gas whose flashpoint is below 50 °C. In particular, it is imperative that the device is not used in areas where alcoholic disinfectants and anaesthetising substances are being used at the same time. The device may not be set up or operated in the immediate vicinity of devices with a high waste heat output. When setting up the device, ensure there is an unrestricted flow of air around its base.
