16th June, 2017 Dear Valued Customer:Director of Biomedical Engineering Director of Nursing Clinical Products Advisor RE: Phasing out of Mark 3 and earlier versions of hardware for Alaris™ CC Syringe pump, Alaris™ GH Syringe pump, Alaris™ PK Syringe pump and Alaris™ Enteral Syringe pump. We would like to thank you for your valued support of the Alaris™ plus (Asena) infusion pumps from BD (formerly CareFusion). With all technology based products, there comes a time when, innovation and development, drive changes in the product enabling richer technology to be offered. This ensures we are providing you the most advanced and relevant technology on the market. In an effort to assist you, with your equipment planning, we want to give you an update on the phasing out of earlier versions of the above mentioned Infusion pumps. We recognise this may have an impact on your facility but want to ensure that you understand that this announcement does not mean an immediate end to service and support. Product availability and support services for the following systems will be changed according to the following schedule: Pump Model

Phased Out – Indicates, it is being replaced with a new hardware version (Mark 4).We endeavour to provide Service and Support of Mark 3 pumps for up to seven years, or until spare parts are no longer available. Mark 3 - Pumps manufactured before April 2015. Mark 4 - Pumps can be identified by a label on the rear of the pump. See photo which show MK4 identification on the Serial number label, last line at the bottom.
Our records indicate that your facility is utilising one or more of these infusion technologies. Please disregard this letter if your facility has changed technology or is currently using Mark 4 infusion pumps. We value your loyalty to the Alaris plus infusion pumps and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. If you require assistance, or would like to discuss a trade in option, please contact your local Sales Representative. Please ensure all relevant staff in your institution receives a copy of this information.
