Nippy Clearway Functional Earth The Clearway is a class II device, equipped with a functional earth which is used for EMC screening. This is not a protective earth connection. Prevention of electric shock is provided by double insulation in accordance with EN60601-1: 2006 Sub clause 8.6.9 of EN60601-1-1 allows for a functional earth in class II equipment having the required isolation of the functional earth/screen and mains parts. The isolation of the screen in the Nippy Clearway complies with all relevant clauses of EN60601-1.
