New Battery Contacts for T34™ Syringe Pump: Differences between 2nd and 3rd Edition Rear Assemblies
bd.com/en-uk
1. Background Following the requirement to add foam pads in the battery compartment (refer to Service Bulletin no. SB05309 issued in January with Foam Pad kit), it was decided to redesign the existing T34™ battery contacts for better durability. As a result, there is no need to add a foam pads on assemblies that have new battery contacts. 2. Purpose 2.1. The purpose of this bulletin is to inform customers and technicians on when a foam pad is needed to be applied on T34™ rear assembly spare parts, and T34™ pumps arriving for service. 2.2. The bulletin will help distinguish between the 3 different types of available T34™ rear assemblies. 3. Affected Products/Scope T34™ pumps that arrive for service, and spare part rear assemblies in stock including spare parts units that are expected to be ordered. P/N

4.Description 4.1. New battery contacts were released on January 15, 2019. All T34™ 3rd and 2nd edition pumps and rear assembly spare parts (400-000S and 400-031S) are manufactured with the new contacts from that day onward. The new battery contacts were created in order to eliminate the need for using foam pads. 4.2. However, there may still be older versions of 2nd ed rear assemblies (400-000S) in stock. These assemblies do require foam pads (MSC00254) and battery cover insertion label (LBL00154) to be fitted. After fitting a foam pad, these 2nd ed spare part assemblies (400-000S) may be used for repairs. NOTE: Although T34™ 3rd edition rear case assemblies (400-031S) can be physically fitted on 2nd edition pumps they are not designed to be used on T34™ 2nd ed pumps (and vice versa). The different PCB circuitry (as shown in images in the following pages) of each rear assembly may have critical effects on software and hardware functionalities, when fitted improperly! Please refer to table above for reference when placing orders. 4.3. 2nd edition T34™ rear assemblies can be visually distinguished by the battery contacts design. Despite having the same P/N (400-000S), only the battery contacts are different. 4.4. Battery Contact Chart NOTE: The images in the chart below are for illustration purposes only. DO NOT bend the contacts as this may cause the contacts to break. Version
