Purpose The purpose of this Service Bulletin is to provide information specific to the new fan assembly for use in Colleague Triple channel devices. Background: A new Fan Assembly (Part Number 0307000003) has been approved for use with COLLEAGUE Triple channel devices. The new Fan Assembly, manufactured by ORION (Figure 1), replaces existing Fan Assemblies (Part Numbers F069180630 & F069480529), manufactured by SUNON (Figure 2). It has been identified by the original fan manufacturer (SUNON), that the fan has a shelf life of 6 months. Discontinue use of Fan Assembly part numbers F069180630 & F069480529 and discard existing inventories. The ORION fan has no shelf life limitations, when stored at temperatures between -30ºC and 90ºC, and less than 90% relative humidity, non-condensing. The ORION fan can only be installed using fan bracket (F069620609) discard any existing inventory of Fan Bracket (Part Number F069390005).

Procedure Refer to the Removal/Replacement procedures in the Global Service Manual for instructions on fan assembly removal/replacement. The removal/replacement instructions for the new Fan Assembly by ORION are the same as the existing instructions in the Global Service Manual. Refer to Table 1 for Fan Assembly part number and Fan Bracket compatibility information. Perform as required but recommend every 5 years Replace Fan Assembly 5 years after the original date of manufacture of the COLLEAGUE Triple Channel device and every 5 years after replacement of the ORION fan assembly. See Figure 3 to interpret device manufacture date from device serial number.
