OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS The headlight is attached to the power source cord by a “Quick Detach” connector/switch provided on the headband. This connector will accept only the 490 Series Headlights. Correct headband size is obtained by use of headband adjustment screw. For convenience, two on-off switches are furnished. The main power switch is on the power source and is provided with a pilot light. This may be left on when the headlight is not in use. A secondary switch is incorporated on the “Quick Detach” connector at the back of the headband. To operate, simply push connector all the way down for “on,” back up to the first click for “off.” This switch operates headlight only. Pull all the way off to detach from headband. Top of power source has a flange to provide convenience for hanging headlight when not in use. The diameter of the light spot can be regulated from 3/4" to 61/2" at distance of 14” by means of a green knurled ring on the lamp housing. This ring controls an iris diaphragm. The intensity of light is uniform at 400 foot candles minimum over entire spot area up to 3” diameter. The halogen (regenerative cycle) lamp in this unit will provide uniform intensity of illumination for the life of the lamp-no gradual dimming. A sophisticated optical system eliminates filament image, shadows or streaks. The natural tissue colors are preserved.
