The Universal Charger is immediately ready for use when the power cord is plugged into any grounded outlet. When illuminated, the center green power light indicates that the Charger is plugged in and ready to charge either one or two rechargeable handles.

Welch Allyn will repair or replace, free of charge, any parts proven to be defective through causes other than misuse, neglect, damage in shipment and normal wear and tear. Welch Allyn warrants the 7114X Universal Charger will perform to original specifications for a one year period from the original date of purchase.

Power Cord

When illuminated, the center green LED indicates the Power Cord is plugged in and is supplying main power to the Universal Charger. When illuminated, the side yellow LEDs indicate that a handle is sensed and is charging. Charge the following handle models: 71500 2.5v NiCad battery handle; 71670 3.5v NiCad battery handle; 71900/11 3.5v Lithium Ion battery handle; 72840 2.5v NiCad PocketScope™ handle (with 71249 adapter) Plugs into any 100-240V, 50-60 Hz grounded outlet.

NiCad Battery Handles Turn NiCad battery handles off before inserting the handle into the well.

Lithium Ion Handles Once fully charged, the 71900/11 Lithium Ion handle will cause the yellow indicator LED to turn off. If desired, test the function of the charging well by placing a functioning instrument head on the handle in question, turn the handle on, and return the handle to the Universal Charger well. If the instrument lamp goes off, the handle was fully charged and the Universal Charger well is functioning properly (the yellow LED may light momentarily).

Rechargement des poignées Placer la ou les poignées dans le socle. La DEL indicatrice de recharge jaune située directement sous la poignée s'allume indiquant que la poignée a été détectée et se recharge. Pour recharger à fond une poignée à batterie complètement épuisée, la laisser jusqu'au lendemain dans le socle de recharge. Si la poignée à batterie est chargée pour la première fois, suivre les directives de charge fournies avec la poignée neuve. Une fois chargée, placer la poignée dans un socle après chaque usage afin de compléter et de maintenir son niveau de charge. Laisser les poignées à batterie dans le socle de recharge d'un jour sur l'autre n'entraîne pas leur surcharge.

Periodically wipe the exterior of the Universal Charger with a damp cloth (soap and water). Use a dry cloth to clean the contacts inside the charging wells and the rechargeable battery handle bottoms. The Universal Charger is not intended for sterilization. Do NOT autoclave the Universal Charger, instruments, or handles.

UTILISATION

To Charge Handles Place handle(s) into well(s). The yellow charge indicator LED directly under the handle well will illuminate, indicating the handle is sensed and charging. To fully charge a completely discharged battery handle, leave the handle in the charging well overnight. If you are charging your battery handle(s) for the first time, follow the charging instructions provided with your new battery handle. Once charged, placing a handle in a well after each use will top off the battery charge, maintaining the charge level of the battery. Leaving the battery handles in the charging wells overnight does not cause the handles to overcharge.

Lorsque la poignée à batterie au lithium 71900/11 est complètement chargée, la DEL témoin jaune s'éteint. On peut tester le bon fonctionnement du socle de recharge en plaçant une tête d'instrument performant sur la poignée en question, en mettant la poignée sous tension et en la remettant dans le socle du chargeur universel. Si le témoin de l'instrument s'éteint, la poignée était complètement chargée et le socle du chargeur universel fonctionne correctement (la DEL jaune peut s'allumer brièvement).

NETTOYAGE Essuyer régulièrement la partie extérieure du chargeur universel avec un chiffon humide (humecté avec de l'eau savonneuse). Utiliser un chiffon sec pour nettoyer les contacts du dispositif à l'intérieur du socle de recharge et du fond des poignées à batterie rechargeable. Le chargeur universel n'est pas conçu pour être stérilisé. Ne PAS passer le chargeur universel, les instruments ou les poignées à l'autoclave.
