External Cleaning Thoroughly wipe down the dust and smear stuck on the exterior case of the unit with Anti Microbial Wipes or a dry cloth and a germicidal (anti microbial) solution or a solution with 70% - 75% medical alcohol. The Air Blower should be cleaned at least once a week and in line with Institutional Guidelines. The Plastic Air Blower Filter (Snap-On Closure Filter Cover) covering the Air Blower motor is located at the side of the Blower. It is easy to access and clean: - Detach the plastic filter cover by pulling off the Closure - Soak the plastic filter cover in a germicidal solution. - Thoroughly dry the filter cover - Reattach the filter by pushing the Closure into place. NB.: The Plastic Snap-On Closure Filter Cover can be detached and reattached manually without the use of any tools. Internal Cleaning The Rexyn Air Supply (Blower) offers superior infection control. A cleaning filter made of non woven fibres can be used to clean the inside components of the Air Supply.

Cleaning and Replacing the Filter

On/Off Switch and Power Adjustment Turn ON the Air Supply Unit by rotating the ON/OFF SWITCH (Knob) CLOCKWISE. The Power is increased by increasing the rotational turn of the ON/OFF Switch CLOCKWISE. The Power is DECREASED by turning the ON/OFF SWITCH Anti-Clockwise (Counter Clockwise). The Air Supply Unit can be Turned OFF by turning the Knob at the OFF POINT.

Switch off the Air Supply. - Detach the plastic snap-on closure filter cover by pulling. - Remove the non woven filter and mesh cover. - Discard the used non woven filter in accordance with institutional guidelines. - Employ a fresh new clean and dry Non Woven Filter. - Replace the plastic snap-on closure filter cover by pushing until the cover is secure (so that it does not come off)

   

Lightly spray the Non Woven Filter with a germicidal spray. Detach the plastic blower filter by pulling the cover off Insert the non woven filter with the lightly sprayed germicidal solution Replace back the plastic blower filter by pushing the cover back on

Switch on the Air Blower as described previously. - Make sure that the Air Hose is disengaged from the Air Blower - Blow air at the maximum power output for about 30 seconds Replacing the Non Woven Filters Switch off the Air Blower as described previously. - Detach the plastic snap-on closure - as described previously - Remove the non woven filter - Reattach the plastic snap-on closure filter cover Discard the used non woven filter in accordance with institutional guidelines. Replacement Non Woven Filters can be ordered directly from your Rexyn Dealer.

Warning The product is designed for use as a complimentary device and in conjunction with a lateral transfer and repositioning air mattress. It is not to be used with any other device including any other form of air mattress including any other nursing aid/device and those that may be used in the prevention of pressure sores. The combination of the Air Blower and the Air Mattress is to be used as a nursing aid and device. The combination of the products may be used in area of operation where a nursing aid and/or device are required for the moving, transfer and repositioning of a patient. Generally such devices are used in a nursing environment including hospitals and care homes, and may also be used in a residential setting (at home) under professional guidance and supervision. As with all moving, transfer and repositioning aids and/or devices, a proper risk assessment by a professional (and/or professionals) who are qualified to do so, must be conducted prior to use.

For Safe Trouble-free Use Do not open the Air Blower without professional guidance. Never insert any items into the opening of the Air Blower. Never attempt to disassemble or block any openings whilst the unit is in use. Ensure that the plug is connected to a properly grounded outlet. Do not use the Air Blower in/under wet conditions. Please keep away from water or other liquids. Do not drop the Air Blower. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the supplier/dealer or their service agent. This manual and care instructions provides instruction for the safe operation and maintenance of an External Air Supply (called an Air Blower) for use with Lateral Transfer and Repositioning Air Mattresses.

The air blower is classified as ordinary equipment and offers no protection against harmful ingress of water, IPXO (IP or Ingress Protection is the degree of protection provided by the product enclosure).

Usage

Not suitable for use near equipment that is sensitive to electromagnetic interference.

The Air Blower is designed for use with all lateral transfer and repositioning air mattresses that require a continuous and consistent source of air for the operational and functional properties of the air mattress.

No Automatic Pressure Relief on the blower. If pressure relief is desired, turn the Air Blower OFF or disconnect the air hose from the blower. The Power Cord and Air Hose should be fully disengaged (detached), that is the Power Cord should be removed from the power outlet socket when the Air Blower is not in use. Store safely in a dry area/place.
