Cautions before operating the unit ■Caution before operating the unit
(
Allow the patient to become fully relaxed without being subjected to any mental or physical stress before receiving intended medical treatment.
)
1.Avoid using this unit in combination with other medical equipments. Otherwise, intrinsically correct diagnosis by the unit may be misinterpreted or confusing, and a dangerous situation may arise from the combined use of equipments. 2.The unit should be used by a lisensed medical practitioner. 3.Never operate the unit with wet hands. 1.For installation. (1)Install the unit at a place free from a splash of water. (2)Avoid installing the unit in the environment susceptible to undue humidity, temperature, dust, air containing salt or sulfur, or places exposed to direct sunbeam. (3)Install the unit at a flat stable place free from inclination, vibration or shock. (4)Do not use the unit in the inflammable environment containing oxygen, nitrous oxide, anesthetic gas, or inflammable disinfectant mixed with the air. (5)Do not install the unit at storage places of chemicals and pharmaceuticals, or at places subject to inflammable gas generation. (6)Observe the ratings of frequency, voltage and amperage(or consumption) of power. (7)Make sure that grounding is made firmly and correctly. 2.Check switches, keys, dials and their settings, and confirm that the unit functions properiy. 3.Check that all cables are correctly and safely connected. 4.Do not operate the unit jointly with other equipments other than the designated stimulator. 5.To ensure safety, never treat areas of a patient's ankle or knee with the electrode applied across the sides of the legs. Doing so will result in skin burns if the patient's legs touch even briefly.
6
SW-180
Cautions for operation 6.Hold the plug, not the cord, when connecting the cord to the AC outlet. Do not pull directly the cord when disconnecting the unit ; this may cause cord breakage, short-circuiting the unit or cause shock. 7.To operate the unit, connect it to a dedicated outlet. Avoid placing multiple loads on one electrical outlet. 8.Do not place the unit near extreme heat. This may deform the unit or interfere with its operation. 9.Use the unit independently and safely distant from other equipments. Do not connect the unit to the same outlet being used by other equipments. Otherwise, possible equipment interaction may result in faulty operation by the other equipments or the unit itself. 10.If the pair of electrodes is not applied to the human body, the unit will not output adequate short-wave power. In this case, the Test Tube will not emit light, even when positioned close to the electrode.
■Cautions for operation 1.When using the unit under high output power, note that the electrode cable may get hot. Therefore, make sure that the electrode cable is positioned away from you and the patient during medical treatment. Otherwise, you and/or the patient may be burned. 2.Avoid unprotected (i.e., bare skin) and prolonged contact with a Strap during Strap use. The Strap is made from natural rubber, which in rare cases may cause such allergic reactions as itching, reddening of the skin, nettle rash, swelling, blistering, breathing difficulty or other asthma-like symptoms, low blood pressure, and shock. In case of such reactions, immediately stop using the unit, and provide the patient with immediate medical treatment. 3.Be sure to clearly understand the doctor's diagnosis of and subscription given to the patient to determine the inclusion of any special medical precautions or instructions. 4.To ensure safety, never treat areas of a patient's ankle or knee with the electrode applied across the sides of the legs. Even a towel may not be able to prevent contact between the feet, with the possibility of burns occurring at the point of contact. Before beginning treatment, please check the following points. Failure to do so could result in burn, or other injury. (1)Make sure that the patient's skin is dry. If the skin is wet, be sure to wipe it dry.
SW-180
7
Cautions after use (2)If there is any ointment on the patient's skin, wipe it completely away. (3)Tell the patient to let you know immediately if he or she feels anything unusual during treatment. (4)Instruct the patient to remove any clothing containing metallic fibers, any bandage containing wet materials, all metallic accessories, metal objects, plastic compound, conductive or partly conductive objects, hearing aids, and other objects. They might cause burns or electric shock. (5)Do not apply shortwave radiation over clothing(either outer or undergarments) that has an anti-static coating. This could cause burns. (6)Avoid radiating over an area where a diaper is worn, because burns may occur. 5.Do not direct the radiator toward the unit or any other nearby equipment. This may cause the equipment to malfunction. In addition, shortwaves reflected from nearby objects may cause other equipment to malfunction (e.g., therapy units, telephones, automatic door openers, fire sensors, personal computers, and other electronic devices). Change the direction of the radiator or move it further away if necessary. 6.Please make sure that the amount of short-wave radiation is not excessive. Treatment time, output, and distance all need to be taken into account in determining the appropriate amount of radiation. Heat is generated within the body, whereas temperature is sensed by the skin. Therefore, close attention must be paid to increases in the temperature of internal tissues. 7.Continuously monitor both the patient and the unit for any signs of abnormality. Should an abnormality occur, turn off the unit, check the status of the patient, and take whatever action is necessary. 8.If the patient shifts his or her body position or if the position of the electrode shifts during treatment, the patient in some cases may notice a reduction in warmth. In that case, terminate treatment (reset output to "0") one time, or press the up key more than three seconds to retune the unit.
Precautions ●When moving the unit, be sure to lift the main frame and not the arm or electrode. ●When moving the unit, be careful not to collide with other objects.

Cautions for maintenance and inspection ■Caution after use Be sure to return all switches and levers to their respective home positions and turn off the power. Unplug the Power Supply Cord from the AC outlet. Make sure to pull the plug, not the cord, when disconnecting the unit. Put the unit in order, then store it at the specified location.
■Cautions for maintenance and inspection 1.Do not try to repair or modify the unit, as this may result in fire or accident. In case of a malfunction, turn off the unit and contact the nearest dealer or importer. 2.Never remove the cover of the unit. The high-voltage generated inside may cause electric shock. 3.Do not hit or jar the unit, turn it over, or subject it to shock or vibration. If such accidents occur, damage may develop over time, eventually causing accidents or malfunction. 1.When the unit is not to be used for a prolonged period (i.e., in the shutdown state), be sure to disconnect the power plug from the outlet. Otherwise, the insulation may deteriorate, resulting in the risk of electric shock and leak-derived fire. 2.The Power Supply Cord must be protected against damage, breakage, unauthorized alteration, forcible bending, stretching, twisting, and bundling. Moreover, never place the cord under heavy objects, pinch it between objects, or abruptly jerk it for any reason. Otherwise, the cord may be damaged, thus posing an hazardous risk of fire, electric shock, and other accidents. 3.Cables and electrodes eventually deteriorate after a long period of ordinary use or short periods of excessive use, thus posing a potential risk of accidents. Therefore, conduct an annual inspection and replace deteriorated cables and electrodes with new ones. 4.The uint should be stored at a specified location with regard to the following points. (1)Store the unit at a place free from a splash of water.
