Potential Equalisation
J
The potential equalization connector (provided at the rear of the unit) is marked with the symbol above. The yellow/green ground lead supplied as an option fits to the connector. Using this connector the ECG unit may be linked to the potential equalization connector of other mains powered equipment to ensure that all instruments are at the same earth potential.

GETTING TO KNOW YOUR AT-5 Switching OdOH Connectthe power cable betweenthe mains supply and the mains connector on the rear of the unit. The green mains indicator shows that mains is connected.
-
§
The AT-5 can remain connected to the mains suppty indefinitely without damage.
The unit is switched on and off with the ON and OFF keys on the keyboard.
Power Supply The built-inbattery is automatically charged when mains is connectedto the unit. A fully discharged battery takes approximately 1.5 hours to charge. The green mains indicator lamp at the front of the casing is illuminated when mains is connected. When operating on battery power, the yellow battery indicator is illuminated.
The yellow battery indicator also gives warning that the battery has limited capacity. When the battery has discharged to approximately 20% of full capacity, the yellow indicator blinks. Connect the unit to the mains supply to recharge the battery. The green mains indicator is lit and the battery indicator lights during charging until the battery is completely recharged. When the battery is almost fully charged a 'top-off charge is activated; during this phase the battery indicator may light for a few seconds every half minute. Both the battery and the mains indicators are visible when the Screen is folded down. The battery capacity is additionally shown on the right-hand side of the screen as a percentage of full capacity. The SCHILLER AT-5 can remain connected to the mains supply without danger to either the unit or the battery.
