3860/3865 Infusion Pump and Remote Wireless Troubleshooting Steps 1) Ensure all antennas are tight and not damaged. 2) Ensure both the Pump and Remote are on the same wireless channel. 3) Position the 3865 Remote as close to the window as possible. 4) Position the Pump and Remote at least 3 feet (1 meter) away from any devices that may cause interference; such as a wireless monitor or computer system. 5) Try a different wireless channel such as #5 or #6. a. Turn pump on b. Press F2 for New Patient (1st white button to the left of the display) c. Press Menu button d. Press F6 for Next Menu (6th white button to the left of the display) e. Press F5 for Set Comm Channel (5th white button to the left of the display) f. Select Channel 5 or 6 g. Press Enter button 6) Reset Radio Defaults on Pump and Remote. See below for steps. a. Verify unit is powered off. b. Boot the pump into Service Mode. i. Power the pump on and hold down the cancel button (will see Service Mode A on the display). c. Press F3 (3rd white button to the left of the display from the top). d. Press F3 for Radio Settings. e. Press F6 for Load Defaults (6th white button to the left of the display) f. After Rec & Sent cycle through commands Press F5 for Store. g. Should see “m>” for Rec & Sent. h. You are done and can Cancel out and power the unit off. i. Retry communication between Remote & Pump.
7) Increase the Radio Power on Pump and Remote.
8) Replace the 3865 omni-directional antenna with the High Gain Antenna (part#: 1177).
