- If patient effort is detected, a “Patient Effort Detected” alarm message will be displayed. - A “Hold Step” button allows the clinician to extend the time for the current PEEP Step. Pressing “Resume Step” will continue the procedure. - If the procedure needs to be stopped prior to being completed, press the “End” button. - Follow the warnings and precautions in the device operator manual to ensure the safety of the procedure operation.
Conclusion of the PEEP Titration 1.
When completed, the ventilator will display the PEEP at the highest compliance level and will continue to use the PEEP titration settings to ventilate the patient.
2.
In order not to revert to the original ventilation settings, within 5 minutes, the clinician must either:
a)
Press the “End” button to cancel this app and resume normal ventilation.
b)
Press the “Go to Recruitment Maneuver” button to perform a Recruitment Maneuver.
3.
The clinician can study the relationship between PEEP and various other parameters (e.g., compliance, SpO2, EtCO2).
NOTE:
Do not perform a PEEP Titration if:
- Patient is alert and not sedated
- Patient is not on invasive ventilation
- Patient’s hemodynamic or respiratory conditions are unstable or become unstable
