Follow the detailed steps instructed in the latest ENDOSCOPE REPROCESSING MANUAL for the TJF-Q180V. Leakage Testing IMPORTANT ∙ Wear appropriate personal protective equipment. ∙ Meticulous cleaning is essential for effective disinfection/sterilization. ∙ Be sure to reprocess all removable parts (e.g. valves) as described in the reprocessing manual. Manual Cleaning Venting connector 1 Maintenance unit (MU-1) 2 CAUTION If a leak is detected, the endoscope must be repaired. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions. 3 4 While Immersed: Detergent solution Water Leakage tester (MB-155) Precleaning Before leakage testing, “reprocess” the scope as described in the reprocessing manual. ∙ Ensure that the Water Resistant Cap (MH-553) is attached. ∙ Detach all accessories from the endoscope. ∙ T urn on air source, depress the pin inside the connector cap and confirm that air is emitted and that both the connector cap and venting connector are dry. ∙ A ttach the leakage tester to the water resistant cap‘s venting connector. ∙ Immerse entire endoscope in water. ∙ Observe for approximately 30 seconds while deflecting the bending section of the endoscope by turning the UP/DOWN and RIGHT/LEFT angulation control knobs, then observe for an additional 30 seconds while raising and lowering the forceps elevator. ∙ Confirm that there are no continuous air bubbles. ∙ R emove the endoscope from the water. ∙ T urn air source off and detach the leakage tester from air source. ∙ W ait 30 seconds, or until the bending section covering contracts to its pre-expansion size. ∙ D etach the leakage tester. ∙ Immerse the endoscope in the detergent solution. ∙ Clean all external surfaces, especially the air/water nozzle opening and the objective lens on the distal end. Ensure that all surfaces of the distal end are thoroughly cleaned. Manual Cleaning 5 While Immersed: Guidewirelocking Channel-opening groove cleaning brush (MH-507, MAJ-1339 or b BW-412T) a Forceps elevator recess 6 ∙ Lower the forceps elevator. ∙ Brush the forceps elevator and elevator recess. While Immersed: Forceps elevator a) Insert the brush into the forceps elevator recess and pull it out. Repeat three times. b) Brush the guidewire-locking groove. While Immersed: ∙ Raise the forceps elevator. Brush the forceps elevator and elevator recess. a) Brush the back of the forceps elevator and the elevator recess and pull the brush out. b) Insert the brush into the forceps elevator recess, rotate the brush one full revolution, and pull out. a Forceps elevator recess Forceps elevator 7 b ∙ Lower and raise the forceps elevator in the detergent solution three times. ∙ Clean the bristles in the detergent solution. ∙ Brush the distal end until no debris is observed. 8 While Immersed: While Immersed: Channel cleaning brush (BW-20T) / Channel cleaning brush part of the single use combination cleaning brush (BW-412T) Channel cleaning brush (BW-20T) / Channel cleaning brush part of the single use combination cleaning brush (BW-412T) ∙ B rush from the suction cylinder to the distal end of the insertion section. ∙ Repeat until no debris is observed. 9 ∙ B rush from the suction cylinder to the endoscope connector. ∙ Repeat until no debris is observed. Channel-opening cleaning brush (MH-507, MAJ-1339 or BW-412T) ∙ Insert the brush into the suction cylinder and instrument channel port, and rotate the brush one full revolution. ∙ Repeat until no debris is observed. Manual Cleaning 10 While Immersed: 11 While Immersed: b Suction Cleaning Adapter (MH-856) 12 13 While Immersed: Single use soft brush (MAJ-1888) Guidewire-locking groove Distal tip Forceps elevator Single use soft brush (MAJ-1888) Single use soft brush (MAJ-1888) Forceps elevator b While Immersed: Groove Forceps elevator Forceps elevator a Groove ∙ Confirm that the forceps elevator is lowered. ∙ Aspirate the detergent solution for 30 seconds. ∙ While aspirating, raise and lower the forceps elevator three times. ∙ Brush the forceps elevator and elevator recess with the single use soft brush. a) Brush the guidewire-locking groove with three strokes. b) Brush both grooves with three strokes each. ∙ Clean the bristles in the detergent solution. ∙ R aise the forceps elevator. ∙ B rush the whole back side of the forceps elevator three times. ∙ C lean the bristles in the detergent solution. ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ Insert the brush head slowly into the groove under the forceps elevator. R otate the brush three revolutions. P ull the brush out slowly and clean the bristles in the detergent solution. L ower and raise the forceps elevator in the detergent solution three times. Manual Cleaning 14 While Immersed: Detergent solution 15 While Immersed: 16 While Immersed: 30 ml syringe Suction port Injection Tube (MH-946) 17 While Immersed: 18 30 ml syringe While Immersed: Water Channel Plug (MH-944) Forceps elevator is raised. Forceps elevator is lowered. ∙ C onfirm that the forceps elevator is raised. ∙ Insert the tip of the 30 ml syringe into the forceps elevator recess. ∙ Flush the recess with 30 ml of detergent solution. ∙ Lower the forceps elevator. ∙ Insert the tip of the 30 ml syringe into the forceps elevator recess. ∙ Flush the recess with 30 ml of detergent solution. ∙ Repeat steps 13 through 15 until no debris is observed. ∙ A ttach the channel plug and injection tube to the endoscope. ∙ Attach a 30 ml syringe to the air/water channel port of the injection tube. ∙ Flush the channel with 90 ml of detergent solution by pumping the syringe at least three times. ∙ W ipe external surfaces of the endoscope and accessories while they are immersed in detergent solution. ∙ Rinse the endoscope and accessories. ∙ L eave the endoscope and accessories immersed in detergent solution for the time recommended by the detergent manufacturer. ∙ Remove the endoscope and accessories from the solution.
