1. SAFETY The following symbols marked on the equipment mean: Caution: Read these operating instructions fully before use and pay particular attention to sections containing this symbol. Always observe the following safety precautions: • To provide continued protection against risk of electric shock, connect to properly grounded outlet only. • Connect only to a power supply with a voltage corresponding to that on the electrical information label. • Connect only to a power supply that provides a safety ground terminal. • Before moving, disconnect at the power supply socket. • If liquid is spilled inside the unit, disconnect it from the power supply and have it checked by qualified personnel. • Do not submerge the unit in water.
2. ASSEMBLY 2.1
INSTALLATION
The THERMASONIC® Gel Warmer should be placed on a flat, stable surface or can be wall mounted, preferably away from drafts. See section 2.2 for proper wall mounting instructions. Plug power cord into a power supply that matches the voltage listed on the electrical information label on the side of the unit. 2.2
WALL MOUNTING
The THERMASONIC Gel Warmer can be wall mounted by following these instructions: • The mounting slots on the 3-bottle gel warmer (Models 82-03 and 82-03-20) are 4 inches apart (10.16 cm). The mounting slots on the single bottle gel warmer (Models 82-01 and 82-01-20) are 1.75 inches apart (4.45 cm). • The mounting hardware (screw #10 XL 1.5 inches) must be capable of supporting a minimum of ten pounds (4.5 kg). • If mounting onto drywall the use of wall anchors, designed for use with drywall, is necessary. • Insert screw so that approximately 1/16 inch (1.5 mm) clearance is present under the screw head. • Carefully position the Gel Warmer so that the large round holes in the rear wall will pass over the heads of the screws. • Press the Gel Warmer tightly against the wall and slide it downward, trapping the screw head in the narrow grooves in the rear of the unit.
3. OPERATION 3.1
CONTROLS AND INDICATOR LAMPS
Illuminated power ON/OFF switch (Models 82-03 and 82-03-20 only) stays illuminated, indicating the unit is on.
The Heat Indicator Lamp illuminates when the heating element is on. When the appropriate temperature has been reached, the Indicator lamp turns off and will turn itself on and off as it adjusts the temperature (all models).
3.2 SETTING THE OPERATING TEMPERATURE (Models 82-03 and 82-03-20 only) The three-setting thermostatic control knob on the rear of the unit can be turned (Low, Medium, and High ) to permit adjustment of the operating temperature. Allow sufficient time for the temperature to adjust. 3.3
OPERATING THE GEL WARMER
Allow 2-3 hours for a full bottle of gel to reach proper temperature. Leaving the cover closed at all times (Models 82-03 and 82-03-20 only) will help the unit retain heat. Your THERMASONIC Gel Warmer is designed for continuous operation and it is not necessary to disconnect the warmer when not in use.
Note: Since gels are aqueous, some condensation may appear in the applicator cap of the gel bottle. Use of the Thermasonic Gel Warmer will not affect the performance or viscosity of any Parker ultrasound gel.
CAUTION: Temperature may vary. Always test a small quantity of gel before applying.
4.
