Test limits and acceptance should be in accordance to hospital and regulatory requirements. There are three basic tests a biomedical engineer may want to perform on a StealthStation™ S8 system. The tests are as follows: 1. Hi-Potential (Hi-Pot) - To test for adequate insulation from line and neutral to ground, apply a highpotential voltage to line and neutral with reference to ground. 2. Earth Leakage Current - To verify compliance with internationally recognized earth leakage limits, measure non-functional current through the protective earth conductor. 3. Ground Integrity - To test for adequate grounding of equipment, apply a high current through the protective earth conductor to the enclosure test point. Performing electrical safety tests Disconnect the camera cart and perform these tests on the main cart only. Do not perform these tests on the camera cart because the system isolation requirements do not require protective earth at the camera cart. False test failures may occur if the ground integrity testing is done at the camera cart. 1. Hi-Potential (Hi-Pot) - Attach the test equipment to the system power cord located on the side of the system cart. Attach the Return lead to ground. Apply Hi-Pot voltage to line and neutral. 2. Earth Leakage Test - Plug the system power cord into the Earth Leakage tester. 1 StealthStation™ S8 Main cart 2 StealthStation™ S8 power cord 3 StealthStation™ S8 Camera cart 9736044-G02 Rev. 1 2020-06 Medtronic Navigation, Inc. 826 Coal Creek Circle Louisville, CO 80027 U.S.A. 1 of 2
