Features
Overview The Pro-Med Pixel Rehab is a versatile stand-up lifter. The Pixel Rehab is designed to assist with the standing of patients who are able to weight bear to some extent. With a choice of sling styles, the Pixel Rehab can stand a patient in a traditional (lay-back) stand-up lifter motion, or it can better replicate a natural standing action by first leaning the upper body forward from the back and hips. From this position, and with the smooth continuous action of the sling lifting straps, the patient achieves a fully upright, comfortably supported stance. This action provides for a positive, but gentle form of rehabilitation during every day use.

In addition, the Pixel Rehab features a removable footplate enabling the Pixel Rehab to be used for walking assistance and gait training. An optional transfer seat assists safe and convenient transport over short distances.

Trouble Shooting
Leg Spread Adjuster (Manual Leg Spread Model)
Before trouble shooting ensure that: • the actuator is not in operation
The legs of the base can be widened by pushing the Leg Spread Adjuster Handle (located at the rear of the machine) to the left. For example, when lifting a patient from a chair, the base may need widening to straddle the legs of a chair.
• the actuator is free from load, and • that maintenance procedures have been checked and followed. Electrical Fault None of the actuators are working
Cause The EMERGENCY STOP has been pressed
The Pixel Rehab Sling should first be fitted to the patient and then the Carabiner Clips at the end of the Pixel Rehab’s lifting cords attached to the sling by fastening them to the webbing loops on the sling.
The Pixel Rehab comes with high quality locking castors at the rear. These castors are easily operated by foot and keep the lifter stationary when required.
Removable Footplate The footplate can be easily removed for walking assistance and gait training.

Electrical Features BRAKE SUB-ASSEMBLY
Handset The Pixel Rehab’s lifting mechanism is controlled through the use of a handset. Up/Down Base Adjuster
Up/down, and adjustment of the base width for the Electric Leg Spread model, is attained by pressing the buttons on the face of the handset. The handset connects to the contol unit via a curly cord lead. Do not over-stretch this lead as damage may occur thus rendering the Pixel Rehab inoperative.
Leg Spread Adjuster (Electric Leg Spread Model) The leg spread adjustment mechanism is also controlled through the handset. This allows the carer to alter the width of the base of the lifter while approaching a chair. A single hand control means less fuss in preparation of the lift. The front castors move while the rear castors remain stationary.
Actuator
The actuator is fitted with a built-in brake ensuring self locking of the spindle thus preventing the actuator creeping down and, a safety nut preventing the actuator from overloading.

Features
Recharging Station The Pixel Rehab is fitted with a power source that is recharged by plugging into any power point when the lifter is not in use and may be left plugged-in at any time for topup charging. The removable battery pack also allows an optional wall charger to be used. The combination of an optional wall mount battery charger and extra battery pack allows for continous use in institutions. The advanced electronic control and power system ensures silent, reliable and safe patient lifting. Emergency stop and lowering functions provide the carer with complete confidence.
Control Unit Battery Pack
The control box is connected to the handset, the actuator and the battery pack, and governs the electrical workings of the Pixel Rehab. Circuitry includes overload protection for the actuator, visible LED display for low battery status and an audible deep - discharge protection signal`.
Charge Indicator Emergency Stop
Emergency Down
The sophisticated control unit comes in two parts: the control box and the battery pack.
Control Box
A large emergency stop button overrides all control box functions. If the handset fails to operate, an emergency down switch can be activated by pressing with a ball point pen tip where indicated. The battery pack is removable and needs to be recharged regularly for extended battery life and optimum performance.

Safety Precautions
Please read and understand the following before using a Pro-Med patient lifter:
•
Pro-Med patient lifters are designed to transfer people distances spanning no more than a few metres - typically bed to chair or chair to chair, i.e. transfers occurring in the same room. To transport a patient distances further than a few metres, Pro-Med recommends the use of the optional Transport Seat attachment with the Pixel Rehab or to transfer the patient to a wheelchair or trolley first.
•
Pro-Med patient lifters are designed to be operated on level surfaces. Operating a Pro-Med patient lifter on an incline can be very dangerous as the lifter becomes difficult to handle and the load unstable.
•
Do not use Pro-Med products with other brands of patient lifters / slings unless specified.
IMPORTANT: THE SUITABILITY OF A STAND-UP LIFTER FOR A PARTICULAR PATIENT MAY VARY, EVEN ON A DAYTO-DAY BASIS. THEREFORE, COMFORT AND SECURITY OF A PATIENT WHEN USING A STAND-UP LIFTER SHOULD BE CONSTANTLY ASSESSED.
