REPLACING THE BATTERY STRAPS 1. Open the battery cover. •
The battery compartment can be opened by inserting a small coin or other suitable tool into the locating screw on the cover. Turn the screw anti-clockwise and remove the cover.
2. With the battery compartment opened remove the batteries. The battery straps are located at top left and right side of the battery compartment (1 and 2) and bottom centre (3) (see Diagram 1)

Diagram 2
3. The battery straps can be removed by using a small (5mm) flat blade screwdriver to lever the contacts out of the retaining slot (see Diagram 2). Gently ease the battery strap on both sides by placing the screwdriver under each battery tag in turn (as illustrated). Immediately dispose of the discarded battery straps in order to avoid re-use. NOTE: If for any reason the battery straps are difficult to remove, then please contact Smiths Medical’s Technical Support for information on returning the monitor to Smiths Medical for service.
