Safety instructions
!
Only persons who can guarantee proper handling of this device owing to their education and/or knowledge and practical experience and have received proper training to operate the device in accordance with this operator manual may use this electro-medical device. Only such persons must be trained who are suitable to be trained in operating this device owing to their knowledge and practical experience. The doctor decides about the use and the indicated inhalation-medicaments.
It is not allowed to reach into the nebulizing-chamber during operation. The lid of the nebulizing-chamber must be kept closed during operation. The power-switch of the instrument must be turned off before removing the fan wheel from the fan-unit. Do not reach into the running fan wheel. The system is only to be operated with air- filter retaining-ring. We recommend the use of glass-bottles because soft plastic bottles or bags collapse.
The administration of potentially dangerous medicaments is forbidden. The doctor always decides about the use of ultrasonic-aerosols in specific cases. Always follow the instructions of the medicine manufacturer. The instrument is not suitable for the treatment of patients in connection with artificial respiration-instruments. Pull mains plug before opening and cleaning of the instrument. This instrument is not determined for explosion-endangered areas (for example near anesthesia-instruments). Flammable anesthesia-medicaments must not be nebulized with this instrument. The nebulizing-chamber must only be filled with liquids of a temperature not higher than 40°C. The nebulizing tube must be placed in a way that no condensation water can accumulate (must not sag). Otherwise the heating cable may heat up the accumulated water inside the nebulizing-tube (only ultrasonic-nebulizers with heater).

Working method The electronic system of the Ultrasonic-nebulizer causes a high frequency of 1.7MHz. This frequency is changed into mechanical oscillation by means of an oscillator (piezoelectric) inside the nebulizing chamber. Then this oscillation is transferred onto the liquid to be nebulized. Due to the transferred energy particles are released from the liquid surface and the result is a relatively homogeneous nebula. The air-stream caused by the fan-unit transports the aerosol inside the nebulizing-chamber trough a tube to the patient. The inhalation leads the Aerosol through the respiratory tract into the alveoli.
Use Aerosol-therapy is the inhalation of atomized normal saline (0.9% NaCl), medicine solutions, sterile water. The effect differs depending on the medicine, method of application and particle size. The ultrasonic nebulizer Micro is effective for treatment of the upper respiratory tract, bronchi right up to the alveoli. It can be used at home as well as in hospitals. -For the prophylaxis and therapy of respiratory tract disorders. -To keep the tracheal and bronchial mucous membranes moist. -Medicinal aerosol therapy. This information cannot be claimed to be complete. The doctor always has to decide about the application of ultrasonic aerosols in special cases.

Preparation for commissioning Please find detailed information regarding cleaning and disinfection as well as preparation of the device on pages 22 and 23. Before the first commissioning, the device must be prepared in the same manner. Assemble the nebulizing chamber ( 829 ) as shown in the drawing and then insert into the base socket ( 807 ) on the device. Connect the connector socket (A) with air regulation valve ( 823 ) and the bacteria filter ( 804 ) using the short air tube. Attach the long air tube to the second connector socket and fix it onto the tube support using tube clamps. Commissioning with the dispensing bottle: Insert the desired infeed system into the opening of the lid ( B ) till the end. System 1: Suspend the dispensing bottle filled with the nebulizing solution on the bottle support ( 871 ). Prick the seal of the dispensing bottle with the guiding cannula ( 857 ) attached to the infeed tube. System 2: Close the dispensing bottle filled with the nebulizing solution with the seal ( 876 ) and suspend it onto the bottle support ( 871 ). For all systems: The height of the bottle along with the bottle support ( 871 ) must be adjusted such that the infeed tube does not get kinked. To do so, loosen the locking handle ( 821 ) and retighten after the setting. We recommend dispensing bottles made of glass because soft plastic bottles or bags tend to sag.

Commissioning with the heating system
The Ultrasonic nebulizer micro 80...Hz is equipped with a connection for a heating system. This system consists of a silicone adaptor and a cast silicone heating cable and silicone supply cable with a plug. It operated with a low voltage of 24V~. The connector socket (24V~) and the fuse unit are placed at the back of the Ultrasonic-nebulizer. - Place the silicon muff onto the socket of the nebulizing chamber. - Then connect the plug with the socket at the back of ultrasonic-nebulizer. - Fix the heating tube into the tube clamp of the holding arm. A blue pilot lamp indicates the operation of the heater after the instrument has been switched on. The heating tube can be sterilized at a temperature of up to134°C.
!
Attention! Connector plug and the socket have a red marking. Both markings have to be aligned in a straight line.
While using the Ultrasonic-nebulizer micro with a heating system, the distance between patient and aerosol-tube must be at least 10cm. Thus, it is not possible to inhale with mouthpiece or a facemask.
The aerosol tube must be placed in such a way that condensation water does not accumulate in it (must not sag). Water accumulated inside the nebulizing tube can be heated by the heating system (only Ultrasonic-nebulizers with heater).
