Audio
Both the N600x-A and NBRPMS systems annunciate alarm tones, pulse beeps, and UI feedback sounds. Both systems also provide a backup audio system which sounds an alarm should the primary audio system fail. The NBRPMS is 60601-1-8 Compliant
Respiration Rate Parameter
The N600x-A does not include the Respiration Rate parameter, this is a new feature of the NBRPMS. The Respiration Rate parameter is disabled and not displayed by default and must be activated using an activation code provided by Covidien. After activation the Respiration Rate parameter will be available for use in conjunction with Respiration Rate sensors.
Physical modularity
The N600x-A has no physical modularity features. The NBRPMS has a user replaceable parameter module which contains parameter hardware such as OEM boards and patient interface connectors. The parameter module shipped with the NBRPMS system includes a Covidien NELL1SR OEM board and the patient interface connector is compatible with OxiMax sensors. The Parameter Module is replaceable by the user in the field with standard hand tools which allows for future parameter hardware upgrades in the field.
