Operator Verification Test • Operator Verification Test should be run periodically and following all patient tubing changes. • OVT may be initiated either from the standby screen or via the main menu
VersaMed / Taleb Medical
Operator Verification Test
• First part of OVT checks the integrity of the circuit and device as a whole.
VersaMed / Taleb Medical
Operator Verification Test
• Second part of OVT checks integrity of the exhalation valve components.
VersaMed / Taleb Medical
Operator Verification Test • On successful completion of second part the audible alarm will be tested. Confirm Yes or No upon hearing the alarm. • Common Issue – Part One, circuit or system leaks. • Common Issue – Part Two, leaking or poorly assembly exhalation valve or tubing.

Ventilator Verification (VVT) • Ventilator Verification Test (VVT) is a sequence of tests designed to verify that the device is performing to its specifications. • VVT should be run at a minimum of a monthly period or as necessary for troubleshooting purposes.
VersaMed / Taleb Medical
Ventilator Verification Test (VVT) • In order to perform the VVT process in full you will require the following items: – Full ventilator tubing system – Stopper (or calibration manometer) – AC Supply – High Pressure O2 Supply
VersaMed / Taleb Medical
Ventilator Verification (VVT) • Once the VVT screen has been entered select ‘Start’ to commence the process. • Observe the screen for any required operator interventions.
VersaMed / Taleb Medical
Ventilator Verification (VVT) VVT comprises of the following checks…….. • Main Alarm Check • Back Up Alarm Check • Patient Press Check • Blower Press Check • Flow Sensor Leak • Motor RPM Check • Pressure Relief Check • Solenoid 1 Check
• Solenoid 2 Check • Solenoid Safety Check • Flow Accuracy Check • Demand Valve Check • Pressure Switch Check • FiO2 Accuracy Check • Internal Battery Check • Watchdog Check
VersaMed / Taleb Medical
Ventilator Verification (VVT) • After initiation of VVT the device will perform a check of the main alarm speaker. User must verify whether it is audible. • Next the device will perform a check of the back up alarm and the user must again verify whether it is audible.
VersaMed / Taleb Medical
Ventilator Verification Test (VVT) • Pressure Tests – User will be prompted to block wye. – Blower will pressurise circuit and check….. – Patient Pressure – Blower Pressure – Flow Sensor Leak
VersaMed / Taleb Medical
Ventilator Verification Test • Pressure Tests – Pressures for Ppatient, Pblower, DCXL, sampled for 5 seconds (5 msec sampling). – Ppatient & Pblower will pass if pressure is >65cmH2O & <100cmH2O. – Flow sensor leak will pass if the measured flow is > -20lpm & <20lpm.
