proxeoAURA 1.2
Description of the Appliance
This air polisher is a compact water jet, air, and powder dental device used in the dental sector for prophylaxis and tooth polishing treatments. This air polisher can be used with powders of various particle sizes and guarantees a constant, efficient jet of powder and simple, reliable use. The operating principle of a air polisher is based on the mechanical action obtained by a mechanical jet of powders accelerated by a flow of compressed air. The kinetic energy thus impressed on the
1.2.1
particles is dissipated when it hits the enamel surface, thus producing a delicate but efficient polishing action. The action is completed by a jet of water which, by means of the vacuum created around the nozzle, forms a bell-shape around the main flow, thus producing a double effect: to prevent much of the rebound and the leakage of the powder jet and continuously wash the treated area, dissolving the powder itself. This air polisher can be supplied with different quick couplings for connection to the turbine of the dental unit.
Eligible Patient Group
This medical device is designed to be used with the following patient groups: •
Children;
•
Adults;
• •
Adolescents;
This medical device can be used on patients of any age, weight, height, gender, and nationality, where applicable.

INSTALLATION
The air polisher device, in order to operate must be connected to a dental unit equipped for water and air distribution.
CAUTION: Check that the dental unit to which air polisher is connected satisfies the specified requirements.
NOTE: The device does not require any electrical and/or electronic connections to be made.
The device must be installed in a suitable place allowing its comfortable use. For the air polisher device to operate correctly, the air and water pressure values must be within the intended range of use, specifically:
The air polisher device is supplied with a specific adapter for the main couplings to the dental unit turbine (see Chapter 4.1 on page 11). CAUTION: Use the air polisher device only with the specific coupling for the relative turbine. Connecting the air polisher device to a connector not intended for use in combination with the dental unit may damage the device. The dental unit to which air polisher is connected must be a medical device that complies with general and applicable product regulations for the specific category of dental unit, and in general, satisfy the following standards: • • •
ISO 7494 Dentistry – Stationary dental units and dental patient chairs; ISO 9168 Dentistry – Hose connectors for air driven dental handpieces;
