RETAIN BAG FOR DISPOSAL OF USED SECONDARY FILTER (LVSF850) REPLACEMENT
To avoid contamination and the associated health risk, care should be taken when replacing any contaminated consumable component. Protective clothing (gloves and face mask) should be worn when replacing any consumable component. The component must be sealed in a plastic bag and, disposed of responsibly in accordance with standard clinical procedures. The secondary filter is located underneath the primary filter (LVPF850) and can be quickly released from its position. 1. Switch the LASERVAC 850™ off at both the membrane control panel, the rear control panel and remove the electrical plug. 2. Remove the primary filter, by turning the colour coded knob anticlockwise to the unlocked position. Replace if necessary. (See instruction leaflet 04 196 001 01 supplied with each new primary filter) 3. Remove any tubing connected to the front of the liquid trap. 4. Lift out the liquid trap. If the liquid trap contains fluid it should be removed and replaced. (See instruction leaflet 04 206 001 01 supplied with a new liquid trap). 5. Remove the new secondary filter from its plastic bag and retain packaging. Check that the filter is within its “use by” date. 6. Remove the secondary filter by pressing the filter down and pushing in the spring loaded retaining clip, situated at the back of the filter recess. Withdraw the filter. 7. Place the used secondary filter into the retained plastic bag, apply the supplied bio-hazard label to the outside and seal for disposal. 8. Before replacing any consumable part, check all cabinet surfaces and recess areas. If necessary, clean in accordance with the instruction and maintenance manual and hospital/clinic procedures. 9. Place the new secondary filter in position, ensuring the tab on the end cap is aligned with the groove in the cabinet. Slight downward force may be necessary to assure that the clip springs back into position. The secondary filter must be securely retained by the clip fastener for maximum performance and safety. 10. Replace the liquid trap (LVLT850). 11. Replace the primary filter (LVPF850). 12. Re-connect the electrical plug and switch the unit “on” at the rear panel and the membrane control panel. 13. Connect required tubing to liquid trap and start the machine motor, by pressing the “up” arrow to the required speed. 14. Write the due date for the next replacement on the label supplied and stick it to the front panel in place of the previous label. The due date should be 6 months from the date of current replacement.
LASERVAC 850™SECONDARY FILTER (LVSF850) REPLACEMENT DESCRIPTION
The secondary filter (LVSF850) combines a 2 stage, high efficiency filter to remove bacterial size particles down to 99.9999995% at 0.01 micron and to adsorb obnoxious odours, fumes and vapours. The LASERVAC 850™ has a unique inter-connecting filter arrangement for safe, simple, filter replacement and environmental protection. The disposable secondary filter consists of an aluminium casing with nylon end caps. It contains pleated, bacterial ULPA grade and activated carbon filter media for dual purpose protection and guaranteed performance. The secondary filter is located underneath the primary filter and can be quickly released from its position by pressing a spring-loaded clip downwards.
QUALITY
LASERVAC 850™ filters are manufactured in accordance with ISO 9001 quality management procedures. Filters are produced from biologically tested filter media, using critically controlled manufacturing techniques to ensure optimum efficiency. Each filter is individually tested to ensure performance and filtration integrity before despatch.
OPERATING LIFE
It is necessary to change the secondary filter at least every 6 months, for optimum performance. Activated carbon has a scavenging effect, which continually adsorbs odours even when the LASERVAC 850™ is not in use. It is recommended that stock of the secondary filters is rotated and the “use by date”, on the box, is observed. The membrane control panel shows clearly the operating life of the secondary filter. A flashing LED, which gradually increases in scale, illustrates when a filter change is necessary. When the secondary filter is replaced the indicator will automatically re-set.
